Joe Hart [MERGED]

This is what happens when you have 2 good keepers at the club. Last season we only had 1 good keeper this season we have 2. IF 1 is regarded as the number 1 and makes some bad mistakes during his time playing then there will be calls for the number 2 to be given his chance. As I have said earlier nationality has fuck all to do with this. Its bad keeping he was there to make a save and he didnt do it. It was simple he could of pushed it behind for a corner better safe than sorry but to do what he done will lead to questions about him as the first choice keeper and rightly so.
Yet the Joe Hart fan club will say all is rosey and its a pointless tread well because of yesterdays mistake we were pointless. Time to take a closer look at Joe and to be honest if he gets dropped he only has himself to blame. People saying dropping him will wreck his confidence keep playing him and the defences confidence in him will start to go the more mistakes he makes the less confidence from the defenders playing ahead of him.

The thing with keepers like joe is, they may make a sloppy mistake but then they will go and save 4 shots destined for the back of the net, its swings and round abouts with GKS look at the best ones, shmichael(sp), grobbelar(sp) james, seaman they made some howlers but they were world class.
This lad is just a kid, hes got a long long time to develop and learn and i hope to god its with city!

I don't see how Hart can be solely blamed for the goal. Young's shot was powerful and Hart was at full stretched to reach it. The defense should of closed down the ball faster. Who ever was marking Bent fell a sleep for a second there.

Is there only me who thinks he did nothing wrong, good save imo defence need to be quicker.

Totally agree mate made a good save from a difficult shot that bounced just in front of him sent the ball away from goal like a goalkeeper should. People criticising him for that save are either daft or blinded by disappointment i hope it's the latter.

I'm another who can't see what he did wrong: When that clown Waddle was criticising on ESPN I couldn't believe it. The initial shot was going for the bottom corner of the goal. It was a fine first save. Coupled with that, his solid handling of the shots Villa had (he didn't spill one) was very impressive. Friedel had a shot fired down the centre of the goal and he managed to shovel it back out into the 'box for it to be cleared by his defence.
I can't understand some peoples perception of the game sometimes.

the problem for me was not about Hart ..both kolo and kompany went to block the shoot but they couldn't..for me one of them should have gone forward and other stay behind him but i think Kolarov should have done better ...by the way wat has gone be by gone and am looking forward season is long and every1 is there to lose it really pains me but it is not end of the world and lets put behind us...thanx our away fans who attended the match they were so great.

I actually really hope we sell Given before the end of the window so I don't have to read shit like this. Of ALL City's players i'd be gutted at losing Hart makes the top of the list. You can find other quality centre backs or strikers quite easily but a quality goalkeeper is like gold dust and we have one who is 23. Imagine how good he'll be in a few years. Plus like others said it wasn't his fault our defence should be getting all this criticism it's been balls the last few weeks and that's the most worrying thing.

He is a good goalkeeper , in fact he is immense the majority of the time . But today I don't think he did much wrong , he made a good save it was just slow reaction from the defence . He has made mistakes that have cost us games but he has saved us games aswell . Besides if he does make any more mistakes there is shay on the sidelines waiting to get back in . However you look at it , we will have a top goalkeeper in our net at all times.

It wasn't the worst bit of keeping in the game. When Friedel pushed Boateng's shot out into the middle of the box, that was terrible. Commentators didn't even mention it as luckily for Friedel it landed at the feet of one of the 9 defenders in their box. To be the perfect save, Joe would have tipped it round the post but to be fair he did push it to the side which is generally the next best thing. I swear if Bent had been more central they would have been saying it was a great save. The margins are fine and luck plays a major part in the outcome and subsequently people's perceptions.

Normally if we win lose or draw Joe is pretty upbeat and full of smiles but this post match reaction just shows how pissed off he and his teamates were. TBH this is what i want to see and they will do everything to put it right.
