Joe Hart [MERGED]

I thought he could have been off his line mopping up for Liecsters 2nd

The goal today was'nt too difficult to catch.

Hart is undefendable for the mistakes he has made. People go on and say the amount of points he saved us. He has also cost us a hell of a lot of points this season. Dont get me wrong I have praised Hart when he has done well but then when you make mistakes like he has done it is hard to over look them. Trying to blame other players is stupid it was Harts fuck up end of it. The goal today he should of saved or tipped the ball out for a corner.

The Hart fans out there your blind faith in him wont do him any favours he had 1 good season last season. We took a huge risk in making him number 1 ahead of Shay who has been playing to a higher level than Hart has been in the last 10 years yet Mancini took the risk that may have cost us any slim chances we had of winning the title this year. Hart is not playing to the standard we need him to be he doesnt have the ability to keep focus on the game to do his job right. Yes he likes to act a clown but he needs to rid that and focus more on the game to be truely 1 of the great keepers until he does this we will continue to see preformaces like this from him.

Hahahahaha

I sometimes really cannot believe what I am reading here...

City happens to have one the very best young goalkeepers in EUROPE in Joe.

In absolute terms, he is not the best in EPL, but he's comfortably third or fourth (no way Gomes is better than him, on Reina I would say the jury is out). Given is say 5th or 6th (i.e. quite close) but is unlikely to improve.

Of course, the current form affects this listing, but on what basis are you suggesting he isn't doing well and that the situation is so bad that he needs to be replaced? Not even Mancini is suggesting that (yet), although he has said Hart needs more focus, etc.

Yes, Leicester was an error, and guess what, it happens to even better goalkeepers than him. No way is the goal tonight his fault, it was a clearcut defensive error plus he got a bit unlucky on top of that. That too happens to even better goalkeepers. Apart from the goal, he looked very good and made several decent saves.

Whether Given should temporarily replace him is a matter of looking at how they compare in training, as there is no other way to figure out in what sort of a form even Given is, and that is not a very "safe" way of anticipating what will happen in the matches that matter, despite Given being more experienced, etc.

So, what do you do now:
(a) Go with Given, take a risk, ruin the young lad's confidence so that in case Given doesn't prove to be doing the trick, you realise you have shoot yourself in the foot at least TWICE, or
(b) Continue with Hart, keep him under a close watch and hope for the best in the meantime?

Option (b) seems like an immensely better or at least "less bad" and less risky an option, while you can do (a) at any point you like.

Hart is hugely overated, he provides the bare essentials of a goal keeper. The trumpet is blown about him because he's English. He is simply better than any other English keeper. He may improve, or he may not, at the moment I would put Cech, Reina, Van Der Sar, Howard and Gomez ahead of him. THe one redemming issue is his age, which he has over all the keepers mentioned. He's avery quiet keeper, in that he the doesn't marshal the defence strongly enough. Strange, as he's first choice on merit.

For real? do you go to the matches? i do and all i can hear is joe shouting his mouth off to the defence my god howard and gomez?

You need to stop drinking your bong water.

Give over ffs.

Im a keeper myself and know how hard it is to save a shot that is going perfectly in the corner, joe did amazing to even stop the 1st shot, bent should have been tracked and its the defenders fault not joes.

It's hard for a keeper when he's started to make his dive and then the ball takes a bounce like it did. It changes the momentum, takes a bit of the pace off and he ends up with his core weight on the deck and his hands reaching for the ball rather than being at full stretch, which makes it easier to tip round the post. I think that shot was like a slowball in baseball and it caught him out. I've seen it loads of times.

It was by no means a howler, like the Leicester one

I'm drunk and I think that's fooking dead funny!!

for me, Shay is the best keeper in the league and Joe is the 2nd best but obviously Joe has more potential as he's much younger.

Give the lad a break and he will learn from his mistakes to become the best

I'm rubbish at highlighting stuff me.

absolute bullshit thread. Joe is one of the best keepers in the world right now and he's only 23 ffs. to be fair i thought he made a mistake at first today but after seeing replays of it it was actually a decent save and AK was just sleeping
