What is actually required is a very decent number 2 that can push Joe for the number 1 slot. Complacency is one of the biggest threats to a footballer (which they actually state themselves)

They need the competition for their place and imo Joe has not had this for some time. Pants was a decent keeper but not the level required. Mayb e wright is the one to do this ?

If we put Joe up for sale, would the rags, arse and chelski want him? If you think yes then theres nothing to say.
I'd swap him for DeGea who many believe will be better than him in a couple of seasons.

Well I wouldn't.....................................
People are giving Hart stick for not saving a shot that came through a ruck of players...and the same people were creaming themselves at half-time in the Brazil game in the Maracona a month or two ago -- when all the pundits were saying hart saved England in that first half - 9 superb saves - England could have been slaughtered that day.

Richard Wright, you mean a keeper who has been an understoody for most of his career, a keeper who has not played first team football for at least 3 seasons, and that was for Sheff utd. Yeah Wright!

Pantilimon is a very decent backup keeper imo that can push Hart. Pellegrini may well drop Hart for all we know. I can't believe the overreaction over the mistake though, why didn't one of the four/five players infront of him close the ball and not stand there and turn their back on it whilst also blocking Joe's vision.

I am aware it isn't his first mistake but he has also saved us points himself at times which outweighs the mistakes.

Joe is very hard on himself. That mistake will make him work harder I am sure. He wants positive plaudits like he earned for his performance against Brazil, not the negatives. It came through a load of players but you would expect him to save it. He played a good ball out to Walker that led to Theo's goal which is positive again, his distribution needs improving and that is a positive. He will step up for the new season I am sure. He is still young in goalkeeping terms yet very experienced and there is no way I would ever contemplate selling him based on how good he is and how good he can be. He has addressed every issue previously including dealing with crosses from his time at Brum. He will only get better in my opinion.

I think with a slight change because of injuries that was pretty much our first team starting against Arsenal

Joe Hart is a top keeper and is bound to make mistakes. The pressure of being England’s and City’s number one won’t be easy but I am sure he can handle it. I think Pellegrini will get the best out of him and Hart will come back stronger.

I would of thought fat Wayne would be backing Hart this morning :-)

Dear,oh dear,oh dear !! And some people wonder why they end up getting called "Rag" !!!!

Any out field player can make plenty of mistakes that go unnoticed. A goalkeeper makes one and that's it. I do believe though that complacency is the problem, he needs a quality number 2 pushing him.
