People love to mock the supposed 'Rag media's' obsession with below average English players like Jones and Welbeck - but this has been going on for some time on this forum with Hart - if he was French this thread would have another 100 pages on it.

Has anyone mentioned he is Englands number one yet?

We won't win a European cup with him in net. Simple as that. He is in my opinion a mid level prem goals. If he played for everyton or WBA he would not be England's keeper.

Not seen him have brilliant games for years. Half our games we could play with no keeper.

I posted in the transfer forum at the start of the summer that Mancini wanted Begavic and got hammered for it.

He won't be our number one at the start of next season or England's number one.

Just a thought ... but wasn't Joe lobbying to bring in Dave Watson as goalkeeping coach? Watson is credited with Joe's rapid improvement at Birmingham and is the England goalkeeping coach. Manuel evidently ruled that out and brought in his own guy from Malaga, Xabier Mancisidor. Could be one factor in Joe's wobbles? Before the start of last season, Mancini changed the defensive coach and brought in one of his mates from Italy, a guy called Gregucci who didn't speak a word of English and had been bombed out of 8 or 9 teams in 10 years. That was a disaster, the best defence in the country was completely screwed up with all that back three rubbish. Maybe Joe and Xabier aren't on the same page yet?
Mancini changed the defensive coach and it was a disaster? we had the best defence in the country last year!
Gregucci wasn't the one at fault for three at the back not working, the players who were playing in it were.

Unless after every season Hart is reset and has to be taught everything again. Joe doesn't need a goalkeeping coach to tell him how to catch crosses!
No excuses for his performance today.

Just seen the goals again, Joe was very poor but I think he was relying on the ariel abilities of Garcia and Lescott. He looked very flat footed for the second and reluctant to come out for the 3rd. To me that shows a lack of confidence, one thing I never thought he'd lack.

Just been posted on the Skyscrapercity Premier league thread.

platt on al Jazeera sports -

"Joe hart wouldn't be a man city player if Mancini and I were still there, we wanted to sign begovic"

I wonder if he'll be the first professional footballer whose career comes to an abrupt end because of dandruff?

Can he catch it though.

Joe is not a bad keep overnight but has put more pressure on himself with the adverts, letting Mancini take the flack for his deterioration in form and wangling his way into the Cup Final team. We need to see Joe back to his best form and he still can be a truly world class keeper if he just focuses on improving his game.
