Joe has not been at his best in the last 12 months - costing a few goals. But then you look at the penalty save against Chelsea at Nil -Nil, the Dortmund game, and his contribution to 18 clean sheets in the league he is definitely a postiive influence on the team. Take out the Southampton game - a freak, the West Ham goal - he had just done his back in - and I think most people would look at this differently. That being said - if he hits the form of 2010-2012 I think we would all be delighted. The "giving more time to Pants" makes no sense. You have a 1st choice keeper that you stick with until you drop him completely

The penalty save from the penalty that he stupidly gave away? He put the result at risk pointlessly charging out! Its not just the mistakes, he always gets beat with low shots and always gets beat at his near post from long range (so many times last season). He charges off his line when crosses come in like when we played wigan and they hit the bar for instance. Imo Panti is a better goalkeeper and is more reliable. Hart is the most over rated goalkeeper in the world out of those considered the best. But one thing he does have is that 1 world class save every match but that wont matter next season if he gets chipped and rounded as easy as he did against AC Milan and Arsenal

I know when he gets rounded it looks bad but really, when a player is through on goal with a lot of time and space it really isn't hard to go past the keeper.
And Pantilimon's looked good but to say he is better than Hart is clearly an exaggeration.

I know when he gets rounded it looks bad but really, when a player is through on goal with a lot of time and space it really isn't hard to go past the keeper.

Maybe so but Hart drops to the floor before they attempt to go round him El Shaarawy and Ramsey didn't even have to adjust they seen him go to ground and kept running. Few seasons ago Hart was the best i had seen in 1 on 1 situations but now he sits down. And saying Panti is better isn't an exaggeration from me as i do actually think he is a better and more reliable goalkeeper. And i also think he would have saved Watsons header :)

Unbelievable. Far from perfect but the best keeper in the league by a distance.

Some people don't appreciate what they've got.

The thing is he had a fairly poor season last year, I doubt there would be many disagree with that - but, if we are to be fair, that poor season came off the back of a couple of fantastic seasons where he cemented his place as his countries number one whilst putting in some sublime performances for us.
Like with a few others of our squad I'm willing to wipe the slate clean, hopefully what we had to put up with last year will turn out to be a blip and their quality will shine through....if not then its back to supporting Chelsea but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.
 
He is England's number one, and I cannot think of a better keeper, turn your attentions to something else FFS.
 
Come on lads, it's not a matter of life and death, it's just a few opposing opinions. Let's not fall out over this!! Let's not wish injuries on fellow Blues eh?



I acutally think that we should get Charlie Williams, Jack Hillman or Jim Goodchild back, they were good goalkeepers who played for City and for England. :-)


Mind you we haven't got any history!!!

Oh, and I'm going to say this before de niro does................................... no I did NOT see them play!! The first City Goalkeeper I saw play was Frank Swift!!
 
Definitely not on top form presently,he should have saved their first tonight.

I'm sure he'll be fine,still our No.1.
 
It has been discussed, who should we get in?

How many decent keepers will come to City and be left with the chance they will get splinters on their arse because they are trying to dislodge Joe Hart. If he needs competition like everyone says, then it will obviously see him excel. Like having Given, the other keeper will not play 2nd fiddle for long and want out. Otherwise we dislodge Hart, ship him out and we end up possibly in the same situation.

Kick him up the arse, show him he's droppable and give him some good coaching and he will be fine for me.
 
Another mistake tonite , but would we really feel any more secure with Pantilimon in goals ?

Or are you thinking of bringing an outsider in ?
