I mean, IF Pants got the job and started to under-perform at some point would there be calls to give Joe another chance?

Genuine question.
Firstly I don't think Pantimillion will let us down as badly as some fear. He hasn't shown any sign of doing so in the games he has played. He also needs a fair crack at the whip and not be berated at the first error(s)
If he does let us down should Joe be given another chance?
I definitely think so. He would have hopefully had a (much needed) rest from the media spotlight by then.
It would give him the opportunity to redeem himself.
If he were to fail again it would probably be curtains for him at the club.
I think that's fair.
I'm not saying Pants will let us down, but no 'keepers perfect and he will go through a rough patch if given extended playing time.

But what would change that would make people want Joe back? He won't have proved anything, his in game decision making will go untested and thus not be improved. It would be like going back to where we are now surely? If that scenario ever happened, I would dread the reaction to the first shot that goes past his left hand side..

If anything, dropping Joe for a while and then bringing him back would spark a bigger media spotlight over his performances.

Well I didn't, so really the only bollocks is the bollocks you wrote claiming I said as such.
Get a fucking grip you soft ****

Read people's posts instead of insinuating they've said something they haven't so you can spout your opinion and make it look more valid to people who won't read every page or every post, when in fact you're making up what they've said to suit yourself.

You're on a forum, post properly you foul mouthed fiction writer.
It was a genuine mistake, one which I pointed out in another post to you. Once I acknowledged it wasn't you who had said it was another Nastasic mistake I'd have thought that would be that.
Making out I'm making things up on purpose in order to suit myself is a wrong assertion on your side.
Yes I'm sometimes foul mouthed, not much going to change that now I'm afraid. I don't post fiction though, certainly not on purpose.
I enjoy your posts on here, you put in a lot of effort in regards to stats etc and you no doubt offer more to this place than myself, who I'd say am a casual poster at best.
You've read far too much into this one though, that said I shouldn't have called you a ****, for that I apologise,

I had a great view of the cock up being just behind the goal. Nasti is urging Joe to do something as he runs back (that may have cause confusion) but that is no excuse for Joe ending up in no-man's land.

Harts run out 22 yards from goal threw Nastasic into two minds , and Torres's close presence only enhanced the panic ...... if Hart had remained in his six yard box , it would have allowed Nastasic scope to head the ball back to him , which i'm sure he would have ...... but Joe Hart created confusion by coming so far out at such speed ... so late in the game , he should have been that bit more professional .

I hear what you say Pudge, but the bottom line is that players in poor form do get regularly dropped/rested by their managers.
The only reason this hasn't happened to Joe is he wears England's number 1 shirt which makes him difficult to drop especially for a foreign manager.
It's also probably more significant to drop a keeper than an outfield player but as his confidence is clearly shot at the moment I really see no alternative.
Playing him in the cup may represent a compromise. It will also make him realise he needs to fight for the shirt which has not been the case for a while.

pants will play wednesday and i have every confidence in him, can't think of any major errors when he has played. Joe is a brilliant young goalkeeper and will be world class and he's ours so lets keep supporting him during these difficult times, however pelli should stop any distractions ie making adverts and also take a closer look at what the goalkeeper coach is actually coaching joe. also doesn't help changing centre backs all the time, kompany and lescott were solid, i know company's injured is lescott ? joe has to trust his centre backs, not sure he does at moment

Fair enough mate, shouldn't have insinuated anything against you but turned a more general complaint against some users of the forum against you which wasn't fair so sorry about that. I do put a lot a effort into a lot of what I post, certainly recently anyway, and there's just been a spate of comments by some users who are "quoting" my posts to suit their own point of view but have just made up stuff and attributed it to me, so it's got a bit frustrating.

Wouldn't say I offer more than you though, we're all blues and I bet there's plenty of people who reckon I talk a load of shite anyway! ;)

Interesting observation because if indeed Nastasic did urge Hart to do something then he must have been expecting him to come and it negates the fact he didn't know where Joe was or at the very least if he didn't look but urged him to come then he should never have headed the ball back without checking first. A simple stay back warning waved with his arm was all Nastasic needed to do before either heading it back or clearing it.

Paradoxically, think Joe doesn't get that much practice at home when he usually is often a spectator, while we are banging in the goals at the other end. Can't remember any busy periods for him at home.Away from home,it doesn't help that he is playing behind a different defence most weeks, although this should not be an excuse. His rush of blood to his head yesterday was bizarre and he made a fool out of Nastasic by his actions,I trust the dressing room manage to sort out who was at fault properly without any side taking or major falling out, perhaps Mr Pellegrini will lead the way with that discussion.I would take him out of the limelight for 2 weeks, play Pantilimon and get Joe refocused on his strengths and weaknesses, perhaps bringing in a specialist English keeper coach - is Joe Corrigan still available ?

Glad we've cleared it up mate. You're pretty low on the list of posters who I'd be willing to be banned for getting in an unnecessary spat with. (That's a compliment by the way..)

Ah Big Joe he took more shit from the City fans than Hart ever will, thank fuck there was no football forums back in the 70's. Yet he came back and went on to become one of England's finest keepers. People need to realise that football is not just about the here and now but with airspace to be filled by phone-ins, newspaper columns to be filled by journalists and football forums at our finger tips we build up and right off footballers by the game week after week. Joe will come back a better person and a better keeper mentally stronger for this and it will benefit City in the long run.

Media build them up and...

I just hope to fuk Joey doesn't come onto Bluemoon.
Yes,he's fuked up a few times recently, and beyond tbh.
He's 26 now,still got a good 10 years in him.
Maybe he is getting cocky, smartass whatever.
Do you think he wants this shit.
He'll be back as good as ever before the New Year,i'll guarantee it.
Head up Joey.

I hope he does he might not feel so fukin cocky after reading a few of the posts on here (kick up the arse)

I would take that shit and more for the money he is on, what are his options tomorrow? Wake up in his mansion decide which car he wants to drive to training? Get to the ground get the finest food cooked for him by the best chefs in the country, do a few hours training then go and do what ever he pleases for the rest of the day, where as most of us will be getting up in the dark going to a job that just about pays the bills then what little is left spend it on following the blues, then get called a shit fan if you can't make your money stretch to go to a European away and league game in the same week, I feel really bad for him

I'm saddened at the level of vitriol and abuse for a young man who joined the club as a teenager and his growth as a player has mirrored that of the club.

in 2011-2012 all the experts regarded him as one of if not, the best in the world.

Games have been won due to his brilliance, have we forgotten last week already, his save from Honda ensured we virtually qualified for the last 16 of the CL.

He hasn't all of a sudden become a shit goalkeeper, an arrogant twat, a liability. He needs support from his manager, a strategy to correct whatever is wrong... and above all support from us the fans... Not a public hanging. Shameful!

Some of the comments on here are an embarrassment to be honest.

He's going through a terrible patch in his career, we know that, he knows that and his manager knows that. Trust them to do the right thing.

Repeating the vitriol and ridiculous comments on here does not help, it just adds fuel to the flames.

Joe Hart may not be everybody's cup of tea personally, but he does not deserve the childish nonsense on here.

Grow up and get a fucking grip!
