Joe Hodge

Hodge was a very early developer, he was a man 15 and fully grown. Good player but as a prospect I don’t think ever stood a chance at city as a defensive midfielder,
That’s very harsh, he was really highly rated a few years back and seen as someone who could definitely fit into a pep squad. The injuries have set him back and Lavia coming in makes it look like he never stood a chance

I guess with the injuries he’s had and Lavia’s emergence it was better for him to get a fresh start elsewhere. Good luck to him

“Following his transfer to Wolves Joe (& family) would like to extend a massive thanks to Manchester City for providing a football and academic education second to non. We would especially like to thank those individuals across the whole of CFA who have looked after him over an incredible 12 years. Its been an honour for Joe to be part of and represent the club he supports & win so many youth trophies culminating in the FA Youth Cup.

We would also like to thank fellow parents and followers of the academy (and bluemoon) for all their kind words & support.

Joe is excited by the new challenge, will be playing again soon and will continue working hard to achieve his ambition to play top level football. He will be at CFA watching is sister play when he can & of course City will always have a special place in his heart.”

Some of you will think he had a chance others not - all about opinions.

For the record Joe is one of the most decorated academy players of all time (wining every cup and league competition available across 2 age groups plus the youth cup). He has never let the club down on and off the pitch and has always given 100% . He’s had a few injury setbacks and whilst he had an offer to extend his contract He is grateful to City for sanctioning this move which he feels will provide a great opportunity going forwards.

Let’s see what the future holds.

Good luck to the lad, hope he can get over his injuries and forge a successful career in the game. He certainly has the ability
