John Guidetti

He's very strong and well built for his age (only turned 19 a few months ago), of course an unfinished product but played well and was much better than Balotelli after they both came on.
I was actually pleased with both of them.

Agree, with the caveat that if Balotelli would just show some interest and lose the attitude EVERYONE would fawn all over him. Let in the game, he chested the ball inside from the left wing, half way line, and went for the 1-2. Got it, penetrated and played a SUPERB BALL in behind the defense for Guidetti. If that had gone in, it MIGHT have been goal of the pre-season...worldwide! It was a brilliant flash of poise, skill and ability to make the pass and change the game.

Guidettl worked very hard, was a strong outlet and looks like he knows where the goal is and, as a very young striker, has a very decent future ahead of him. If we swap Tevez for Aguerro, then I would keep him as our 4th striker with Dzeko, Balotelli and Aguerro and save a bundle by bringing him along.

If you asked me to read Mancini's mind as I have no inside knowledge at all, I would guess that's the plan. Always nice to see a young player do well!

looks a very good player, shame he will be 4 in the pecking order behind balotelli, dzeko and aguero (if he joins)

I don't know. I think our 4th striker will still get lots of play considering Balotelli often shifts to midfield and there are always injuries.

What I have seen of him has been pretty good tbh - it was kind of annoying how the US commentators kept mispronouncing his name last night but then again they were just annoying anyway resorting to the easy option of having pops at Balo - yeah I guess they have read the tabloids too great journalism guys

I must admit, he was better today than a few days ago.

I dont think he is a top prospect but maybe a decent one. Seemed to lack a bit of pace.

i know u gonna hate me for this...

but guidetti reminds me of rooney when he was younger.

he's strong, holds the ball up well and has a powerful shot.

he has potential!

"Goodette" really impressed me last night, glad he's re-signed, although according to the mail we had to pay Twente £1m, if true then that along with the Caicedo deal, we look amateurish.

On the tour so far he has 1 goal, 1 assist (could of been 2 if SWP goal was not offisde) and 1 hit post, having a good tour so far.

SNN said in its report of the game 'Guidetti scored only his second goal for the club, despite joining over 4 years ago' *shakes head*

I must say the Guidetti saga has passed me by but this story can't be true, can it??

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/ar...ity-buy-John-Guidetti--striker-gave-away.html

Such is the seeming lack of cohesion between manager Roberto Mancini and the administrator axis of Garry Cook and Brian Marwood that City bought back a promising striker for a considerable sum after letting him go for free.

Sweden Under 21 forward John Guidetti, who scored 13 goals in 17 games for the reserves last season, is understood to have cost City as much as £1million to reclaim him from Dutch club FC Twente.

Twente had signed him on a Bosman deal when negotiations with City over a new contract broke down.

Guidetti’s father, Mike, arranged the move to Holland when City, the richest club in the world, dithered over a £10,000 fee during talks.

as I mentioned before and i repeat one more time.

give the lad some time

he will come thru

has the right attitude and the elements to be our 1st choice. give him a run of 3 games and he will score guaranteed.

From what Ive heard no formal contract was ever signed with Twente.
They did a dirty one and went out and claimed it was a done deal, mainly to put a damper on other clubs interests in John.
That week they went all over Europe visiting clubs, Twente was just one of them.
Believe it if you like, but John has always said he would most prefer to stay at City.

I must be a nob aswel coz I think he's shit and would go as far as to say that he will never be a regular 1st team player for city imo.
Your words, no-one elses.
why call somebody a nob because they have a different opinion on a player than you do? is that not a very nobbish trait to have on a fuckin football forum?
Firstly, I never said you were a nob, you did.

Secondly, to write off a kid after a pre season game is just, well...
