Says Sunderland have won the race - £1.5million loan fee with the option to buy for £6million............ although City negotiating for more.

great move. hope it's not one of those 'must' clauses. what if goes and scores 20 goals, can get a higher price or possibly even keep him

It'd be a fixed price so no matter how well he does, Sunderland would have the option to sign him for the agreed price.

If we can loan a youngster out and they go and score 20+ goals...at what point do we give them a chance!?

We have to give him a go after the season he's had or there's absolutely no point loaning our young players out because I can't see what more he could have done.

No wonder he's frustrated.

I agree but the Calciomercato report might not be true yet, best case scenario would be Guidetti signing a new contract then going to Sunderland on loan with NO fixed option to buy. I have a bad feeling wherever he goes will have an option to buy though, we just throw money at our problems and there are no signs of that changing. Guidetti could end up the best player our academy has produced ahead of Micah and Sturridge IMO, Ronald Koeman has coached many players and said he is better than Ibrahimovic was at the same age.

Loaning him to a Premiership club is great, but why the bloody f*ck did we give them an option to buy?? Have we not learned from the Caicedo fiasco?
We have already seen how good he can be at Feyenoord. It won't be too hard to assume he will come good in the Premiership also...

There should be NO option to buy but should WE decide to sell him they are first in line, what if he sets the world on fire and we ask for £6 million?....buy high, sell low yet again

I will be glad to see him move to a Premier League club, at least we will see how good is he.

If we want a loan fee of that size then I doubt they would accept anything less than a fixed fee option at the end of it.

Exactly, if he gave a scintillating performance next season, wouldn't we get at least 15mil for him? Or even better keep him?

We got bummed off that option to buy thing with big phil, why we doing it with big John?

I'd rather just accept a lower loan fee and not give them the option to buy, who knows how well he might do?

Unless if he does well our plan is to offer him a big contract and welcome him to the first team, meaning he wouldn't want to join sunderland for the fixed price? Still risky

There's some talk on twitter (yes I know it's twitter) that Villa are in talks to loan him, as well as Sunderland.

I agree. Sunderland will also be a good destination for him because Martin O'Neill is excellent at man management and motivation. A season there should see what he's made of.

He's had success wherever he's gone as a Manager and worked his way up from nowhere. It's sad that he never got his chance at a top Club because he deserves it.

If he goes to Villa then Lambert will have signed 3 players that played for Feyenoord last year. Vlaar, El Ahmadi and Guidetti.

Wigan/Martinez would be my preference.
I was thinking much the same thing. Possession-orientated football, almost guaranteed to feature regularly (he is better than Franco di Santo after all) and if he can score for Wigan, he can probably score for us.

Just before we do loan him out, then we should offer him a contract extension as he has only got two years left on his current deal.

Guidetti has 2 choices IMO.

1. Loan to Prem and join our first team in Jan or Summer 2013.
2. Sell to highest bidder.

Either way I'm not arsed too much, but option 1 would be good if he flourishes.
