Motson is a C**t, have it on very good authority that he is disliked by many he works with.

Don't doubt this. I also have it on very good authority that he and some of the MOTD backroom staff (prominent staffers) have, shall we say, outmoded attitudes towards race and gender.

Motson used to have only good things to say about City back in the day when he could patronise us in the same manner that is now exclusively reserved for West Ham - working class club who traditionally play good football with wingers but always have the habit of shooting themselves in the foot.
Now that we're moved onwards and upwards from that he quite evidently views us with disdain.

A reluctant word about Chapman - he has made a genuine attempt in the past year to be fair to us despite his rag leanings (even little things such as 'And now over to the champions....') so I've met him halfway and no longer want to throw a brick through the telly whenever his face pops up.

I agree with the OP, Motty's:

was an unfair comment. VK is one of the world's best CBs and a very genuine player who would never deliberately try to injure a player.

However I still dont "dislike" Motty and find him much better than many other BBC commentators like Alan Green, Jonathan Pearce and even our own Stuart Hall.

John Motson on last night's Monday Night Club was getting digs in at City, in particular Vincent Kompany, saying ""he's got previous" and "he's been sent off before".

Unfairly in the Derby last season, you biased twat, Motson.

He then went on to talk about Peter Coates the Stoke owner saying "He attends every match unlike some foreign owners".

This follows a pattern of other digs at City on this programme.

I've never trusted John Motson since in 1990 he said in a BBC Commentary and I quote:
"Every schoolboy wants to play for Manchester United"

Oh, really?

I have never wanted to play for them at any time in my life (I'm 48 this year) and I'd imagine most people in Manchester, Leeds and Merseyside feel the same way too.

Yes, Chapman can be fair. When there have been negative stories (an editorial decision rather than his I would expect) Chapman has not got stuck into us. Well I haven't noticed him do it so I don't have a problem with him. At least he is from near Manchester (Sale, I think). His choice of team is his problem!

Motson though is an arse licking little creep full of cliches and boring stats...his critics however are less kind....

Barry Davies always was a far better commentator but for some reason Motperson got the gig over him too many times. Some people said Davies was "too middle class". I never noticed his "class". Always thought he was fair, and interesting...very interesting (despite Franny's goal for Derby!)...
