Solid yet again but to be honest Burnley didn't offer much attacking wise

No ambition other than the options a corner, floated free kick into our area and a compliant ref, which Rodger The Todger didn't play today.

But I did look across from CBL3 at one point today towards the direction of J. Stones and the thought crossed my mind of F. Baresi!

The transformation in this fella is truly incredible. He's gone from looking weak and a disaster waiting to happen, to a commanding beast of a CB. We are finally seeing what all the fuss was about.

He is 23 years old, he was always going to need some time to learn the ropes, certainly when a manager like Pep rocks up and expects him to learn a whole new way of being a defender! He will only get better still.

Epic. English football in a decent position when Walker Stones Delph and Sterling are all looking so good under Pep. Throw in Kane, Alli and Rose and who cares what else is in the team it will be capable of beating anyone. Except the fact the manager is shite.

Mostly because Stones and Otamendi didn't let their big men up top get anything. Burnley attack through hold up play, and those two just mugged their striker time after time.

Also, in games like these, Otamendi and Stones become very important to the attack. Burnley pressed high, and our 2 CB's picking passes that bypassed 3 or 4 of their players lead to most of our good attacks.
