He wasn’t playing in sky blue last night, therefore I couldn’t give a fuck.
He’ll be fine when the real footy starts again.

Exactly, performances in the international equivalent of the Checkatrade Trophy are not something I'll be worrying about. He wasn’t playing in sky blue last night, therefore I couldn’t give a fuck.

Just watched the highlights and none of the back four covered themselves in glory , shambolic defending throughout , the difference is Stones got punished , people like Carragher will jump on the bandwagon re-Stones because he still hasnt got over the Dipper league title failure and every opportunity he has to kick us , he will take. Stones is a confidence player and Pep will have him in the right place come August

It wasn't lack of game time that John suffered from last night, it was stupidityRidiculous decision to start Stones last night. John has played little competitive football recently and should not of been exposed in a game of that importance. Likewise with Delph who did ok but understandable tired later.
What matters is how Stones plays for City and he fits how Pep wants to play. OK he may make the odd mistake but overall I would say he has played well for us. I don't give a shit about England, as you said there is always a mf player who is looking to receive the ball from defence at City.Unlike some that really concerned me last night. He hasn't played a lot but shouldn't he be raring to go? De Ligt got rid of him at corner after corner. We have lost Kompany and Van Dijk was a beast again last night and meanwhile Stones looked like a kid. Dwelling on the ball...we had already been warned through other errors that we got away with. He had all the time in the world to just turn and pass it.
Having said that, the options in the middle were non-existent. No real outball was ever on. It is in the middle where England desperately need ro improve to challenge.
