I never knew there was VAT on transfer fees.
Same as any other purchase, if it's a transfer between two clubs from the same country, VAT is applied, if it's a transfer between two clubs from different countries within the EU, VAT isn't applied. Doesn't affect the clubs though as it's not a P&L transaction for a regular business - the buying club will offset it against the VAT they've taken in on merch and ticket sales and it wasn't the selling clubs money anyway.

How about Stones as DM? He's not bad at ball.
Regarding Otamendi, he's absolutely perfect for a Pep team, with the high line it can sometimes leave your defenders exposed in a 1v1 situation, something Otamendi is brilliant at.

I'm convinced he'll be brilliant this season, he's got all the attributes to be so. I just hope we get Stones signed too.
In fairness, I think he was brilliant in many games last season. The problem was he was often woeful in others. And no, his brilliance had nothing to do with being paired with Kompany. He had games with and without Kompany in which he was brilliant, as well as games with or without Kompany in which he wasn't.

If he can limit the woeful games, and keep up the number of brilliant ones, it would be enough to make him the best CB in the league. That's how good he was when he was good.

What makes me laugh is people say the papers are printing shit and not to listen. Then quote what the papers are saying. 60M for stones hes never worth that. Make your mind up.

The Papers can quote all they want, the truth is no fee has been agreed yet( or hadn't as of Saturday).
There is however an agreement between the the clubs that Stones will be sold to us if the price is right, this is how we have everything agreed with Stones himself.
We put in an opening bid of £40mill and was told Everton won't come to the table unless we agree to start at £50mill.

Absolutely spot on.

Id agree with that. Think under Pep we will see a much more consistent Ota.

Nothing new for a couple of days but logic, and the fact Stones was left out of Evertons recent game, would suggest we'll get news on this transfer soon.
