John Stones

Stones would be a fantastic signing for City, expensive, but fantastic. He's still young, young in the real sense of the word, not in the Mangala "he's still young" sense by which we mean "nearly 25 years old". He's excellent with the ball at his feet, yes he'll still make errors occasionally, like yesterday (although I thought Howard was slow to react and could have go to the ball before Ayew) but he has that ability to bring the ball out from the back, as well as play an intelligent, killer pass, that very few centre halves possess. He reminds me a lot of Ferdinand, albeit probably less physically strong, as much as Rio was and is a complete bellend he was a fantastic centre half for a long time.

Demichelis is going, Kompany is just too injury prone to be relied upon unfortunately, Mangala is on his way out once Guardiola arrives in my opinion, he just isn't good enough. That leave Otamendi, a 50% Kompany, and hopefully Denayer. Add Stones to that, a player who I think would really suit a Guardiola system, an we'd be looking pretty strong, and young, at centre half.

as much as thats great, what we need more than anything is a defender who knows how to actually defend, we have too many centre backs who are great at passing, rubbish at defending. Im not sure if stones will help our defence get better, but i agree he is a fantastic prospect

Agree, 21 y/o and proven in the premier league etc. the pricetag is gross but i think the 42 for mangala doesnt add up when you compare these two. Im sure Pep will clear out four or five players atleast but hope Mangala goes ahead of Denayer.
