If he comes it will be for the 300 grand a week and nothing else - it really is fucking obscene.

And this from the people who want to build the team over a period of time - bullshit - they speak with forked tongue.

Mate, if our progress happens over a resonable period of time I'm happy with that. But if it takes an obscene amount of money for it to happen now, well after 32 years of hurt and shattered dreams and having an office full of brain dead rags taking the piss out of me, your dead right I'd take it now. At least we've got the money unlike Real who've taken out an £800m loan whilst the world is in recession to make it happen now.

Now that's what I call obscene!!! lol :-)

Snap?
Pam you've lost me. That was ages ago.

I am suggesting that Chelsea's denials may not actually be any more genuine than City's
were in the summer they bought swp. I probably didn't make that clear enough.
I knew what you meant Pam spot on I'd say

Re: Does anyone else think that we are going to sign JT?

Terry ain't coming.

He's concerned that Ancellotti won't kiss his arse and his position as Mr Chelsea will be undermined, he'll lose direct access to Big Boss and the Board etc., he's even been heard worrying that he might lose the Captaincy.

This is all about internal Chelsea politics with Terry using City to gain the the leverage of possibly leaving to further strengthen his personal position (and possibly salary) at the club ahead of the arrival of a new Manager.

We're just the 'prawn in the curry' where Chelsea & Terry are concerned, but just like with Robinho, Real & Chelsea last year, if you don't ask, you don't get!! You've got to be in it to win it........ We've got nothing to lose & everything to gain, so if it happens it happens, if it don't, well fuck it & let's move on.

It was only 3 season's ago we had the 'Mad Muppet' Pearce in charge & we were all talking about getting the likes of Mido, McLeod, Nathan Tyson, Billy Sharpe and that dude who's on the bench at Hull.

Keep the faith

Re: Does anyone else think that we are going to sign JT?

I can't really see us getting JT, but it would be fantastic if we did. The power shift would be very evident if he did sign and everyone would definitely take notice of us then.
The so-called big 4 had better keep a close eye on us this season, they won't want us getting too far away from at the top of the table. Lol.

Just hope we conclude the Tevez deal this week, that's the big one for me. Eto'o would be even better and Lescott would complete a superb summer of spending.

Re: Does anyone else think that we are going to sign JT?

- City want him
- His agent(s) will make far more money out of a move than if he stays, so will be working very hard to shift him
- Chelsea don't want to sell, particularly to a potential rival, but may be tempted to cash in as long as they can spin it so they look like they did everything they could to keep him
- The player himself will be leaning towards staying - he won't want to look like a mercenary, pretty sure he has roots down south, must feel some obligation as 'Mr Chelsea' and captain - but has to be tempted by the money
- The Umbro factor may be significant. If the deal does happen it may just be because Garry Cook has worked out a way for Terry to cash in big time with Umbro...

Personally I would LOVE to see this happen, and for Kenyon to get shafted. Terry would have a huge impact on the club, and along with Gareth Barry would transform our attitude on the pitch. Having thought it over I reckon there is a decent chance but it all hinges on whether the player himself is prepared to pull the trigger.

Re: Does anyone else think that we are going to sign JT?

From what I recall, didn't our superb chairman/owners want Englands center-half pairing to be the basis of our defence. That to me reads Lescott and Terry once Rio is out of the way.

Re: Does anyone else think that we are going to sign JT?

i think our chances are about 0%, And thats while pissed and giddy.
