Why does this fool make this comment twice in 1 report? Another piece of Daily Mirror anti city journalism. All that was missing was the words "likkle Citeh"

I think it's a very good article, and it was laugh out loud funny. Nothing to complain about at all, you're overreacting, he didn't say one bad thing about City in the whole article.

he doesnt have to mate. its just always seems very patronising when it comes from The Mirror. Thats just my opinion of course

Was just reading an article in today's Guardian about everyone's favourite big-time bull-shitter Sulaiman al-Fahim and his shambolic take-over of Portsmouth, and spotted this little nugget discreetly hidden at the bottom of the page:

Chelsea, meanwhile, are not prepared to offer John Terry an increase in salary to stay at the club, following the 28-year-old's reported interest in a move to Manchester City.

"He will not be paid a penny more by the club," a Stamford Bridge source said. "There is a strong confidence that John Terry will stay."

I can't see Terry being happy with this stance, considering his problem allegedly centres around not feeling adequately valued by the club.

If the above quote really represents Chelsea's stance, I'd say it looks good for him handing in a transfer request - in which case I can see him being at City next season, like it or not!

All these gentle nudges and snippets. kind of just adds fuel to the fire. like several posters have commented on here it just feels like he is slowly being pushed out of the door.

We,ll see. its just the wording mate. "not a penny more!" its a bit like they are goading him. its all this business about him not feeling valued or wanted as we are led to believe. As for three year contract. The majority of players who move on have a current contract. we all know they are pretty much worthless nowadays.

I've been thinking about this Terry transfer and something doesn't add up. Obviously MH identified the fact we needed a centre half and a leader. There are plenty of centre halves in the world who could do a job for us so why Terry. What I mean is surely Terry is one of the people that MH would not attempt to buy given the fact he IS Mr Chelsea , spent his career there and obviously has a big say on what goes on.
In other words MH must have been given some encouragement from somewhere to even attempt to sign him and that could only come from Terry himself.
Whether that came direct from Terry to Hughes or via England team mates isn't known but their must be some contact to start this transfer saga.
Given that senario I would say their is a better than even chance that Terry will indeed sign.

Another distinct possibility. there are so many connections. City kit, England Kit, Terry himself and of course the Nike Gary Cook thing. i think this would help it along but apart from the money i genuinely believe that Tery sees something happening that he wants to be part of. i think he's really excited by it and wants to be part of it. I also think Chelsea aren't overly concerned about him leaving. its just about finding the right way to actually go about it.

the more i hear on this the more i think chelsea want him out, they see this as a time to get maximum money its there 1 and only chance to get anything for this guy! if they just came out and said were gonna allow him to talk to city, there would be riots, they've put the feelers out and even some chelsea fans aren't seein it as the big disaster they thought it might be, i think they might just be waiting for the initial shock to go and then we may here some more about him comin to city
