Its going to take a lot to get JT to join lads and ladies. He has to ask for a transfer and ruin his relationship with the chelsea fans, he will also have team mate pressure to stay, the CL might be the thing he feels he has to achieve at Chelsea.
Another thing against us is the fact no one can predict how things will go for us next year. JT has to give up a valid chance of winning the CL and Prem to join a team that might break into the top 4. Its a big ask. Lets face it if someone put a gun to your head and ask where JT will be playing his football next season, you would have say Chelsea.
Cannot see it happening so who do we get instead?(next thread)

It seems to me, clear that no news is mmmmmm no news! Nothing more nothing less. The logistics are such(with City in SA and Chelsea in the US)that any kind of agreement would be quite hard to come to, if a move was on the cards. Of course the same, to a lesser extent would be true if a new deal at Chelsea between the player his agents and the club had been reached. I do have one small question for the Chelsea members of this board though, do you guys think, with all that's gone on that whatever happens Terry will end up with a new contract(either with you guys or at City)?

so is there anything in the press reports about terry staying or are people thinking its bollox ?

The lack of any recent info from the well known ITKs on this thread is deafening.

bob bob bob.... if you didn't believe the original reports from the 'ITK's', that terry wanted out, why would their silence now be of any significance to you?

Come on now,I'm just kidding. It's just this phrase has been used so often here, it cracks me up every time someone uses it.

We've made an offer to Terry.
Terry is thinking about it.
End.

if we all put that much effort into our contributions to this forum it would die a fast boring death. Some people would say thats no bad thing.

We were quick to pull out of the Eto'o deal, and move for Adebayor, so the silence from City is as telling as the silence from Terry, and the noise from the Chelsea officials. There have been no reports of any new City bids for defenders, so I'd assume that City still hold out hope of signing Terry.

Difficult to tell whether the Chelsea unofficial briefings to the press were sincere.

I'm trying to detach myself from what I want to hear, and what the known facts are, and it's impossible to read. There are all kinds of scenarios.

?(next thread)

He's not doing any good to his reputation amongst Chelski fans by failing to say one word on the matter. It isn't as if he hasn't been asked about it. And we're talking about weeks and weeks of uncertainty now. You can sense their frustration growing and you can't really blame them. I think most would admit that it might be a difficult decision for the player but he's had enough time to consider it all now and he should come to a decision. If one of our players was doing this to us, I wouldn't be best pleased and neither would any of you.

Incidently, if personal terms are no more important to him than overall ambition and investment intentions for the club, then
he will not be staying with Chelski or leastways, not with a straight face.

If this was all about getting a better deal why didn't Terry do this in January when the initial bid was made?

That is such a good point. It is not disputed that he was promised things for the summer that subsequently never materialised. He's adamant that the club named players they were to bring in to keep Chelski competititve and so far it hasn't happened. God knows what other promises they made.

But if it's true that Terry tapped us up and not the other way around and yet he still ends up staying where he is, City need to go public with that because it is so not on and must never happen again. It is tantamount to fraud and deception, if you ask me, so shirlely it isn't true. It would imply that he is quite willing to fuck with both clubs. Not appropriate conduct for an England captain, either.

The whole bit about promises or demands for new players is nothing but a bunch of tabloid rumours, you know the kind that you like to dismiss when they are not particularly flattering towards City and you presenting it as a fact doesn't make it so.

The bit about Terry tapping up City is laughable. Even if City were, in fact, contacted by Terry first and not the other way around, they'll be in the world of trouble if it was discovered, since they wouldn't be able to justify their negotiations or proposals to the player who was, and still is under contract with another club, no matter which side initiated the contact first.
