Still a few planks around with negative comments but on the whole great to see support for Johnson. Now that the injury issues seem to be sorted he has worked hard in training to get back and it was great for him to get on the pitch last night to the cheers.

"he's took the .... out of the club for the last year feigning injuries"

Who comes up with this garbage?

I'm not anti-Johnson at all, but didnt the club a few months back issue a statement along the lines that they've now carried out every test possible and cant find anything physically wrong with him?

No I don't think they said that at all. For sure they had struggled to find the basis of the problem but maybe that's why some of the medical team were dismissed. The facts are that he kept making comebacks in training and kept getting pain and problems that meant he had to stop. City did not believe he was feigning injuries but I am sure it was affecting his state of mind as it was unbelievably frustrating to him to keep breaking down especially given what was going on in the club.
Finally new specialists got to the bottom of the problem and now we are seeing consistent progress and without pain so he can keep working which is exactly what he is doing. The last thing he wants are fans rolling out the drivel like we see on here far too often. It baffles me why City fans think it can do anything but harm to slag off it's players on a forum like this.

Johnson is the most talented player at the club IMO when fit are 100% on it, it is a shame that he went of the rails but well done to the guy for fighting back. The extra weight can be used to his benefit as he plays in a role that requires a bit of strength and power.

Good luck MJ, keep working hard mate we are all behind you.
what a great piece of denial!

yes jonno has piled on the pounds but wouldnt you doing nowt all day also he would fill out a bit with his age has he still growing i know he likes a beer and that wont help but while he still at club we should all back him and support him through these time while fighting his demons hope he can get back and be better than b4 he was injured if so we have one hell of a player in this team and from within the club

I remember the Stevie Ireland threads a year ago, and on that basis I'm backing our Johnno to make some folks in this thread look a right fucking mug, and I don't think it'll take him very long either. He has an outside chance of making the world cup squad, imo.

Flame me, go on, I dare you... :)

Dare I say it, I actually partly agree with Kiam here. :) I wouldn't say Johnno is the most talanted at the club though, but he's still an amazing prospect. Agree to an extent about the extra weight, but it's obvious he's carrying a bit too much fat still. If he's training with the team that shouldn't be a problem after only a few weeks though, and it's nice to see he's given the chance. As I've said he's our number 6 and we should get behind him and hope he's sorted himself out. If he's been partying as much as we hear well than that obviously has to have stopped, but with Hughes at the helm that shouldn't be a problem either, because we could survive without Johnno and I think Johnno knows that too. But I won't slag him off because I'd like to believe he's sorted himself out, is injury free and on his way to full fitness. We'll just wait and see now but I think he'll be alright, and a great asset to us.
