I know he shouldn't be faced with that abuse from a very small number of his own fans but is that any reason for not clapping the rest of the 7,500 ? Same goes for the others who didn't acknowledge us. It's always the same ones who do and the same ones who don't.

Most players live in a pampered world of riches beyond our wildest dreams. They have no idea of the financial hardship it is for many in ticket and travel costs, not to mention free time to go and give them support. The least they could do is to let the fans know they appreciate the effort made.

This has bothered me with Silva for a while now.I absolutely love the guy as a footballer but every time he comes to take a corner and gets a standing ovation he never ever acknowledges the fans, not once. Why?

I have seen Silva respond at corners. I am at opposite end of the ground near one of the corners and to be fair he has responded several times. But it does annoy me with the players who don't. I can live with it during the game as I am happy if they are concentrating on the game, but at the final whistle, no excuse. Sunderland away this year was one that sticks in the mind. Always noticeable that when Kompany is on the pitch he will encourage others.

This is digressing away from the Lescott incident which is a pity but i can't remember him acknowledging the fans at corners. It is something i noticed a while back and it gets commented on where i stand.

I think modern day footballers are so far removed from the fans these days that they are copping more abuse than in the past because the fans, rightly or wrongly, see a lot of them as posing Johnny big bollocks who couldn't give a fuck about them or the team they love on the whole.

If what has been quoted was said to Lescott though it is a disgrace.Just what some fans think they will achieve by abusing their own players is a mystery.More effort, less mistakes? To be honest if i was the player in question i would think Fuck you and either be off or boot one in my own net and think,''Cop for that, now you have got something to moan about!''

No, it's no excuse for not applauding the population of perfectly well adjusted attendees who sang their heart out and supported their club.

Which is why he took to twitter and apologized, and in the process explained why he wasn't himself. That's what the ruckus seems to be about.

Lescott is a fucking disgrace, 7,000+ City fans turned up to watch that shite and because 1!!! Idiot abused him, he didn't thank the rest of us.

May not be popular on here I know but it angers me so much.

Have to say I couldnt care less if any of our players applauds the crowd after the game.

Idiotic to abuse our own players.

Seems soft to get bothered by what one person in the crowd said. Imagine the racial abuse Ferna got in Ukraine and he just gets on with it, no wonder he has such a strong mentality.

So any player who doesn't come over and clap the away end ever is a disgrace?
Especially one who seemed to be upset at the time

Behave.

I stand in 111 and have seen silva respond many times with a little clap or a thumb up.

Joleon completely within his rights to do what the hell he wants. We all choose to go and support our team not to abuse them. Whoever the plank is that made the remark is probably getting off on the fact that they started this whole none story, probably their best accomplishment in their sad life. Get over it. Also in response to posters saying Silva doesn't respond to fans, absolute gash, he and Nasri on the majority of occasions give a little clap. Just goes to show that these posters clearly don't go to the game and are talking out of their arse. Enough said, Joleon is a winner, might stay, might go, whatever his decision I will support who ever is on that pitch, be it Kolarov, Garcia, Dzeko. I'm still entitled to my opinion but when at the game they get the support that any fan sporting their team should give.
