José Ángel Pozo

To play the lone striker in the premier league is an incredibly tough job. Then when you take in to account that he is an 18 year old kid on his 3rd senior appearance you are able to appreciate that you're not going to get the finished article. Not seen today's game but against Everton last week he should signs of good movement and touches. Got in to a great position to score but hit it at the keeper. Rather than get on the boys back we need to get behind him and nuture his talent. What an experience for the lad.

Would love for it to work out but he isn't there. He isn't young. Top dollar players are making a mark at 18. He needs experience and we're not giving him a good one.

I'm not sure if you're taking the piss or not. Pozo is being played out of position, in a role he's unfamiliar with in the best league In the world. He's a cracking young talent. Players like him, players who don't rely on pace or strength and moreover skill take time to up to speed in the premier league. Not many 18 year olds in the premier league playing amazingly week in week out. Even sterling looks shite this season. Look at Ronaldo at United, he was 21/22 before he was any good. Xavi was 24/25, silva was 22 at Valencia. Fucking Thierry Henry was like 23/24 before he turned good.

I can't believe you judging a very highly regarded teenager on his first 2 and a bit games played out of position. Arse hole.

Playing him as a lone striker is as good as filing the numbers ,its not the kid,s fault he is just not made for this role ,but I'm happy on a way that atleast someone from the academy is getting chances

Arsenal rejected Yaya as a 20 year old. Zlatan Ibrahimovic was ready to quit football at 15 to work at the docks in Malmo. Messi was 20 before he was banging in the goals on a regular basis and 21 when he was playing 40 games for Barcelona . If Manuel Pellegrini didn't trust Pozo he wouldn't of been near the squad and the likes of Sinclair may of got more of a look in.

I agree with the point you're trying to make but Messi was lighting up the Nou Camp from 17 onwards.

The kids not ready but it's not his fault we're in the ridiculous situation of having no fit strikers at the club.
Not replacing Negredo has come back to bite us on the arse and i sincerely hope Pozo doesn't end up paying for that.

Makes you realise how good someone like Barkley is for those who still doubt it.

Similar age but the gap between Barkely and Pozo is huge.

Definitely think Pozo will be a good player but not as a lone striker he's being forced to be at the moment.

Barkley is 21 and Pozo is 18 and the gap in quality isn't that great. The advantage Barkley has is height and physicality.

Which is a huge gap...
