Jose for City? (merged)

My gripe with Mourinho...

Just thought I'd put this out there, see what you think. It's more for the Mancini outers and the Jose fan boys.

If The owners announced that Mourinho was our manager for next season you are putting a lot of faith in the fact that when he pisses off after one season like he always does, there will be another good manager ready to pick up the pieces.

Can you imagine us having a better manager than Mancini after that happens? The thought worries me somewhat.

Would you be happy if Mourinho came in, sold a load of players, brought in a load of new ones, and then got 5th because they weren't given enough time to gel?

Mourinho would have been the best thing that ever happened to this club if he was brought in on Boxing day of 2009. Mancini was the man who walked out on to the pitch that day and has since then spent hundred of millions on HIS SQUAD. Football is a long-termist game. Short term gains are few and far between and almost always based on sheer luck.

Fergie took 6 years to win anything with the rags, and there was even a time when the rags were calling for his head. Although they won't tell you that.

In the long run Mancini is the better option. In my opinion this is fact (Oxymoron? I don't care haha).

Forza CITY

Edit: He also capitulated against Barcelona... Does that make Pep a better manager? Perhaps, perhaps not. What I do know is one has had much longer at his team than the other

I agree with with everything you say there! Why is Mourinho talking about leaving after just one season? I'll tell you Barcelona! He knows he'll struggle to win the league and champions league while Barcelona are that good! He's looking for an escape root before his reputation goes!

Re: Jose for City?

Yeah - me too, I like Bob and have been willing him to get it right, but 3 transfer windows have brought little quality and still waiting for a plan B. I'm pretty sure that Boateng Kolorov Dzeko will come good - eventually - but to start the business end of the season with 1 striker puzzles me. Hope he gets it right - but JM is a fair replacement - if its true.

Re: Jose for City?

Personally, I think the ITK side of this forum basically pans out like a game of Chinese whispers. I reckon that the approaches made are pretty informal and then one person twists it and exaggerates the situation, then the next person, then the next one etc.

I also reckon that Terry, Torres, Eto'o never really got much further than City making an informal approach and indirectly letting the players know how much they could be earning. I bet that Terry used the interest to boost his contract.

Yeah but we a 1000 page thread on Tevez months before he signed. We might not get it right all the time but sometimes our predictions are shit hot!

But that was largely because it came directly from Tevez' agent. He always said City were a likely destination- the world knew he was probably going to City. With Torres, Terry, Eto'o and Mourinho there's been literally nothing that specifically says he'd like to go to City.

I mean I joined these forums to join in in the Terry debate. I still have PMs in my inbox saying that a move to City was 'nailed on', similar story with Torres.

I'm not saying it won't happen, it could and I could imagine Mourinho partaking in the City project but by no means has he chosen City yet.

I dont think he's nailed on to be our next manager ( I wish he was !) but he even says he wants to come back to England to manage. That is good enough for me to give me some hope. Take away Arsenal, Spurs United ( I don't think red nose will retire ) that leaves us in a shoot out with you, imo. Unless he fancies taking over at the Giant Axe !

Re: Jose for City?

Listened to Jose's interview on Talkshite this morning. The guy just oozes class.

"Don't be scared to say you want to win"...are you listening Bobby?

Dear Sheihk,

Please break the bank for this guy.

Yours truly

Re: Jose for City?

OT is now a dubious one as Fergie has been talking to journalists about building another great team at United before he goes.

He sees Valencia, Hernandez, Rooney, Smalling, the Twins etc as the basis of one final hurrah in his United career.

So if you expect Fergie to retire next this season or next you are way off the mark - he has 3-5 more years in him.

Also I would think being at City would add spice to Jose's thoughts - he could be the first man to manage both Manchester teams to the title perhaps?

Re: My gripe with Mourinho...

The only way to compair the 2 managers is through facts, here are the facts:

Mourinho

Mancini

Mourinho has a much higher win percentage. It dosn't show Mancinis goals but look at Mourinho's! Goals for- 909, goals against- 357. Throw that in with the fact he hasnt lost a home game in 9 years and Mancini isn't even in the same league as Mourinho.

Further fetched than star trek and not really great for us considering he'd most likely be leaving us to win the title with the rags really is it?

Mourinho On Sky Sports News Now

Apparently he listens to Bryan Adams, Sting and Bruce Springsteen in his car.

Bryan Adams has played a gig a Maine Road. Yet another clue that Mourinho is coming to City.

Can we stop with the madness please.
