Jose for City? (merged)

Personally, I think the ITK side of this forum basically pans out like a game of Chinese whispers. I reckon that the approaches made are pretty informal and then one person twists it and exaggerates the situation, then the next person, then the next one etc.

I also reckon that Terry, Torres, Eto'o never really got much further than City making an informal approach and indirectly letting the players know how much they could be earning. I bet that Terry used the interest to boost his contract.

There was much more substance to every one of those "links".

Also I would think being at City would add spice to Jose's thoughts - he could be the first man to manage both Manchester teams to the title perhaps?

Further fetched than star trek and not really great for us considering he'd most likely be leaving us to win the title with the rags really is it?

It's better to have loved and lost....

This thread is really embarrassing. I sincerely hope other fans don't get a hold of this.

I would ask that everyone refrains from posting, and lets it slide quickly to page 2. Or even better, a mod could delete it?

so long as its not Terry..eh... he will be after Tevezs bird..Mind you Ballotelli will shag his OH...Be a bit like east enders....

Despite his ridiculous boring tactics and totally weird substitutions I really like mancni.I like his way with the press etc.I Realise also the need to build and for stability and would love to see him here for ten years. The thing that bothers me is what if he is actually no good, I mean of course in the prem as he clearly has a brilliant football brain.
It might be he's another scolari or Ramos, both brilliant football men but both abysmal here.their clubs bit the bullet and said no sorry thought it would work but it clearly isn't let's move on for everyones sake.
You can counter that with Rome wasn't built in a day but we aren't in Rome and someone should tell Mancini that....... for all OUR sakes.
Now that's a brilliant post. It's a distinct possibility this could happen, but sadly only time will tell. As I've said on another thread, for some reason I get the feeling with Mancini this will not be the case though - just wish I could back up why I feel that with some hard facts!
Sometimes, with managers, you can just sense that things aren't working out or progressing as they should.Liverpool took a gamble on woys' previous good record but realised that it wasn't working and took action before too much damage was done.Same with BFS at Newcastle,Ramos at spurts etc. That's not to say Mancini isn't a good manager because I believe he is.He just doesn't understand the PL and has failed to adapt.
If he was given 3/4 years in the job,he would be able to instill his beliefs and playing style into his young squad and be a permenant fixture in the top4.Time is not on his side though.
Richards isn't Maldini,Boateng isn't Baresi. They weren't brought up and coached to play possesion football at a slow paced build up and only burst into some pace in the final third of the pitch. We are at the stage now, where other teams know that we're not going to murder them with a rapid counter attack and can defend a high line, which results in a congested midfield and us just inviting pressure on ourselves.
The managers job at MCFC was always in the past regarded as a poisoned chalice. Now it is a golden cup overflowing with nectar, with a completely hands off owner offering an unlimited transfer budget, who just asks for us to be dining at the top table as a force in world football. I just think that under Hughes and now Mancini,we're missing out on a wonderful opportunity to capitalise on the incredible generosity of Sheikh Mansour. I believe it's an opportunity Jose Mourinho would take full advantage of.

It is, but loving and losing to your arch nemesis and watch them live a wonderful life for ever more whilst rubbing your nose in it every day!?

Though the point I was making was more to do with the thought of winning a title with City and Trafford supposedly adding spice to Jose's thoughts - I doubt that thought has crossed his mind

If you were Jose.... & you got the city job...

Who would be your first signing &o which player would be the first you get rid of?

a)lady boy in
b)Kolorov. out

Is it just me that wants Guus Hiddink over both Mancini and Mourinho?

Top draw manager that IMO would stay for 5+ years given the opportunity.

Mancini isn't the man to make is the best team in this league.

Yes, the most overrated manager in the history of the game.

He did really well 20 years ago in Holland, but since then, has consistently failed at club level.

He is well in with the press though, who continue this stupid narrative of "best manager in the world him". To put it into context, outside of Holland, Howard Wilkinson has won more than Guus Hiddink.

Isn't this pretty much the same argumenmt that could be used against Mancini...

"... outside of Italy, Howard Wilkinson has won more than Roberto Mancini..."

;-))
