Joshua Kimmich

For those asking, such as @City_Sean , Kimmich has said in FFT he feels DM/pivot is his best position.

I agree, but he's obviously not going to be on the same sort of wage structure as at the other clubs listed as interested, further, Leipzig aren't winning the Bundesliga or CL any time soon. The usual suspects of Barca, Madrid, City, Rags plus Leipzig seems somewhat off.

Regardless, I think if he forces his way to the door and we are genuinely interested, he'd end up here.

Leipzig would be able to match his bayern wages and are his old club, their inlcusion seems pretty straight forward as an option to stay in Germany.

Also RE: winning the league any time soon, I think you'll be surprised. As soon as they get that CL money flowing in and FFP relaxes, they are only headed one way, and the idea of them overhauling that 10 pt gap is not absurd, especially if they had a couple more players of Kimmich's quality and with Ancelotti always letting the league slide.

IMO, he's good enough to start for any team, but Ancelotti preferred experienced Alonso (old and slow) and Vidal (very thick compared to Kimmich). Pep would play him, no doubt.

Alonso is slow(Kimmich isn't quick btw) but a better passer from deep there is not
Vidal thick?
Thiago, better midfielder in every department

I agree mostly, but I think even Bayern fans would tell you the team has been massively understrength this season with a "bumper" summer window full of warchests and swoops and that sort of thing. Then there's Dortmund.

Regardless, I'd still be willing to bet City, with the promise of higher wages and being reunited with Pep, would hold an advantage. Further, Bayern would perhaps be more amicable to see him go abroad rather than a rival, perhaps even moreso depending on the outcome of Sanchez.

I'm still somewhat dubious the story isn't just a move for more play time guaranteed.

Ancelotti will not survive his second season... (there is already theatre behind the curtains in which Kalle is pro and Uli is against - Ribery already started to phone Uli whenever he gets subbed...)

And Leipzig first has to survive working in two competitions... - like with Dortmund the other teams will know more and more how to defend their system (and they are mainly great against the ball with a lot energy but not with) - in the Bundesliga I count with other teams more next season that underperformed this season and are not playing internationally next season. With Hoffenheim and Leipzig in CL and maybe Freiburg and Frankfurt in the Europa League and/or maybe Hertha, Cologne or Bremen there are a lot of the smaller clubs playing internationally and will be handicapped in the league and have problems in the international matches.

We already know that Kimmich cannot be satisfied with the run of this season - Ancelotti had his first 11 set at the beginning of the season and good performances etc. did not get you in. But Bayern for sure will not let him go - and he has contract until 2020.

Means diddly squat as well you know but if it makes you sleep a little better.

It means a lot. There is always two to party. Bayern does not let people with long contracts go who they really want and need. And they have and will tell him that he has more chances next season.

We are not talking of clubs that need the money or players that will play dirty. Kimmich's agent Uli Ferber knows how to use the media to get his player into a better position. In this case it is not a pay rise or a transfer - but a better perspective in the club that he wants to achieve.

If a player wants away then away they go it is that simple regardless of contract or club.

Im not for a second saying he will go btw, just that in modern football, a contract means nothing more than guaranteeing a decent transfer fee for the club.

That was my first thought, tbf.

The only questions remaining;
1. Will Ancelotti provide assurances sufficient enough to satisfy Kimmich of more play time?
2. And if he doesn't, will Kimmich ask to leave over it?

If it's true that Kimmich is out of favour with Carlo, or worse he's seen as a Pep-man, then perhaps Ancelotti won't offer a sufficient guarantee and/or the damage is unfixable. If so, would Kimmich force his way out the door? And would Bayern side with Carlo or take the player's side? Think it's hard to call, but if he wants to leave he'll leave.

If the board will allow a player to dictate the rules, it would mean that Ancelotti's fate is sealed. Very tricky situation, but Carlo is the only one to blame. Nobody forced him to avoid rotation and bench Bayern's best talent.

But he knows there's already Vidal and Thiago in Bayern's midfield who will start in most of the matches and Bayern also bought Rudy who is a direct threat to Kimmich and there's also Renato Sanches who himself can't get any minutes to play himself. Then there's talk about other midfielders that Bayern are after. I saw his statement, it says ""I'm not going anywhere yet and I can't say anything more"", hardly denying the rumours that he wants to leave.

Like you said your board may try to convince and succeed in convincing Kimmich by assuring more minutes to him but if push comes to shove, we know Bayern won't force their players to stay once they want to leave (just like they allowed Kroos to leave).
