I'd be shocked if this transfer doesn't happen. It seems too far along from al reports.

That said, I don't see any other incoming after this. It seems Kovacic and Josko are our 2 main targets outside of Bellingham/Rice.

I'm not sure I feel that enough. But let's see.

Ideally, most of us would have wanted to see an upgrade on Philips. It seems as though Pep is trusting him to justify his transfer though.....so we'll have to go with that faith

We keep Bernie, and promote a couple of kids, and it's enough.

In fact,i think we will be stronger than last season.

a biggy i hope! The dipper and arse fans are all giddy at the minute about us only doing Kovacic and the business they have done? Would boil some piss if we dropped over £200m in a week on two absolute worldie players!
Kovacic, Gvardiol and Odegaard (swap deal with Phillips, Cancelo and Laporte) would be an OK summer!

Throw Kane in aswell for 100M and we’d be absolutely taking the piss

My fear is with Kev and Mahrez. I'm expecting an age/injury induced decline in these 2. And if that happens, I see an overall drop in our attacking impetus.

I see Kovacic as of similar quality to Gundo (even if he doesn't have that Gundo magic).

Phil I believe will fully arrive as the best overall player on the team this season (he needs to take that step forward and I believe he will) and that will help with the Kev/Mahrez decline

My hope is that Alvarez full potential is unleashed (this is another way to reduce the effects of the possible declines).

I'm not too worried about Phillips, if he improves great, if not, we have good coverage in John, Kovacic and Lewis at a minimum as the 2nd DM. We'd have to accept there'd be some drop off without Rodri no matter who plays. But the support DM role is well covered.

I'm not certain we'd be better than last year only because I expect the opposition to be stiffer.

Kovacic is equal to Gundo in terms of quality, maybe even offres more in terms of flexibility, and Gvardiol is better than Laporte.

Mahrez has his moments, but i think McAtee and Bobb can come in and do a job, along with,as you say,Alvarez adding even more.

Kev is Kev.......he has another season in him where he pretends he's fucked, can rarely manage 90 mins......but has game changing input.

Id also be very tempted to add Doyle to next seasons squad,he is incredibly reliable and will be great cover for that DM role.
