LaPorte has been great for us but time to move on if Gvardiol comes in. G will freshen up the team, has size, pace and more importantly age on his side and from the admittedly little I’ve seen of him, he will solve the back 3 and back 4 left sided player problem with valid competition for Ake in both roles.

The only downside he has is that to me, phonetically, his name doesn’t really make sense.

He wouldn't go to Leipzig. He is a world-class defender, so I doubt he would be interested. IMO, he would only consider Bayern in Germany, PSG in France, etc. The best teams in their respective countries.

Well any club in the world is a step down right now, but Leipzig will always be competitive in the Bundesliga and will be playing CL football.
