Watched Saliba before Arsenal bought him, would i have bought him, yeah i would have snatched their hands off, watched VVD before Celtic bought him, would i have bought him, yeah i would have snatched their hands off, would i buy Gvardiol no, if he is going to improve you would see something special about him, even Wio was special being tall and very quick, some say he is the best left sided CB in the league, but this is wrong Lacroix is although the standard is very low, if Laporte leaves and we want to keep 5 CB`s we should go for Salisu, £30 million and low wages, he is not special but has the ability to grow into a rock.
Obviously i do not rate Gvardiol at anything other than composure, and i will not be impressed with spending a record on a player where we already have better, in a market where better will be avalable in the future cheaper.
£77mill plus whatever add-ons (and if they get triggered they'll pay for themselves) for a 21 year old player that Pep really, really wants? I'll trust the hierarchy to be honest.

I would love him at City, but his release clause expires on June 30th. So anyone wants him for that clause needs to get him this week.
Szoboszlai could come into play if Bernie leaves for XXm
and I'm confident Leipzig would do business after 30 June and take €70m.
But then there's Newcastle, interested too.

We all trust the hierarchy last season we bought Haaland, Ortega, Akanji, Phillips and Gomez, the failure rate was nearly as high as the success rate, and higher than usual does that mean we should not trust them?

Nothing is cheap in this market and as much potential as Salisu has they are worlds apart. Lacroix is another good shout but he’s not left footed. Gvardiol will play CB/LB when needed. And he is excellent on the ball as well, rapid, strong, wins a lot of aerial duels and it can only get even better under Pep.

Not sure what you’re saying but composure is about the only thing he lacks, and that’s understandable given his age. He will be error prone but improve with time, like with most CBs

He has everything to become one of the best center backs for next ten years. Here he will have best manager to help him and other center backs that he can learn from.

First three great successes. Would also chuck Alvarez in there as even though he was strictly a January signing he didn't join until summer, so four big successes. Phillips TBA due to injury and lack of minutes. Gomez bought as a CFG signing and only stayed with the City first team as backup due to failure to sign Cucurella so doesn't really count as a poor Man City signing. Wouldn't say "the failure rate was nearly as high as the success rate" based on that.

If he signs it looks like we’ll be having a bit of a clear out. I suspect Laporte will be on his way and maybe Harwood-Bellis will make his loan move permanent.

If some or all the other rumoured moves come off we will will have done a brilliant job of refreshing the squad for little or no net cash outlay. This really is a well run Club.
