He's a decent player & scored a good goal. He's got an engine on him & defended as well as supported the attack. What to classify him as? A box to box midfield all-rounder who's decent defensively, useful in attack & can circulate & give a decent pass. He's not a specialist at anything.
Would another manager turn him from being a jack of all trades into a master of one?
He didn't stand out enough to command my attention, because my concentration was on our performance & us winning. HOWEVER the very best players tend to grab your attention because they either dictate the match, or their contribution effects the game to a major degree.
Of the Dortmund players, Hummels, Guerriero & Reus had a greater effect on the game imo. If I get time I'll rewatch the game & focus on Bellingham to see what others claim they saw last night that I didn't.
On another note, the way the Mirror are reporting on Bellingham this morning, you'd be forgiven for thinking only he played last night, & that he's already signed for Liverpool "If he signs for Klopp at the end of the season as expected".
Hargreaves & Camel Gob were creaming themselves as if they'd just witnessed the second coming of Gerrard & that he's the Saviour of England for the world cup. Apparently he's way ahead of Philips & on a par with Rice. I suppose we'll see soon enough. \0/
