Said it in the Bayern games,as good as Gundo has been....in the elite games he just doesn't have the legs or the aggression this lad would bring. He would allow others a freedom not currently afforded to them too.
Hell have been receiving some of the most unhinged direct messages for the last 12 months from Madrid fans. This was a restrained reactionAlfie endearing himself to the Madrid fans, for when Erling joins them In the 2024 season.
100%, a lot forget just how good Rodri is in the final third, he is also a huge goal threat, great shot and very competent in the air.I think we saw last night, just how much we need Bellingham or a player of his running power?
Gundo is a legend and was kicked to bits, but he was out on his feet and was caught the wrong side of the ball a few times?
Gundo relies on his technique to be in the right place, but believe he is slowing down.
Another powerful presence in midfield will unlock Rodri to show more of his talents going forward.
Gundo has peaked, still has wonderful games but you can see he is starting to wane, still a wonderful player but maybe is going at the right time.dont agree with that,Gündo has started to make a lot more mistakes the last couple of months with his passing and dribbling and did some very silly ones yesterday.id. like to have someone similar to him next to de bruyne, but seems that age slowly starts to catch him up.
The same way some were saying earlier in the season that Kev had peaked and was struggling with the intensity of every 3 days? Yet Kev has shown that when it comes to it it’s him who is still the star and produces the big moments in the big games I.r. Arsenal, real.. I don’t think anyone will appreciate how good we have it with gundogan until he leaves- he also didn’t look like he was waning when we played Leeds at weekend and he ran the show. Also, a reminder we were playing Real Madrid and they can bypass any midfield in the world when in gear- Bellingham/gundogan or not. They both offer different things but considering pep wanted total control yesterday you get that with gundogan and not with BellinghamGundo has peaked, still has wonderful games but you can see he is starting to wane, still a wonderful player but maybe is going at the right time.
They both lost it a few yesterday. But in general, they are both highly unlikely to lose possession.Thing with gundo is he receives the ball and rarely if ever loses it in the middle of the park! It think the only other person in the squad who could do that is Grealish and silva.
Every single player at real Madrid away is going to lose the ball at some point. You are playing world class playersThey both lost it a few yesterday. But in general, they are both highly unlikely to lose possession.
Yesterday being the exception
Gundo is the best signing of the Pep era, which shows I highly I rate him, one of the best players EVER to wear our shirt. The same way some were saying earlier in the season that Kev had peaked and was struggling with the intensity of every 3 days? * btw I’m not suggesting you were one saying Kev had peaked just a vibe that was on this forum at one point *
I don’t disagree with anything you’ve said there. I think judging next season is impossible though. But, what we are seeing from him now is as a good as ever in my opinion and he’s crucial to achieving control in tough games away from home- definitely not waning. I just resent the fact people thought a Bellingham in midfield instead of him changes the result. Yes it gives you more legs but that isn’t what pep was going for- hence Bernardo out wide rather than a foden or Alvarez. He wants total control in those away games and gundogan is the best we have at that in midfield and most definitely better than Bellingham at it in this momentGundo is the best signing of the Pep era, which shows I highly I rate him, one of the best players EVER to wear our shirt.
But age is a factor, as is serious injuries in his career.
He is still a class act but he is also physically not able to do what he once did, this time next season I sadly think he would be really struggling and I would not like to see that.
I said a couple of days ago, sometimes it's better to say goodbye when the fans want more, he could leave the club at the very top, hopefully a treble winner but at the very least a nice Champions league winning medal in his pocket, a fitting finale for a class man.
