He was actually quite funny tonight on the commentary (I know he is like the worst ever manager City had, but he showed guts in 1996). Apparently the main commentator said Scarpa the Forest play has got them all into rubiks cube as he can do it in 34 seconds. Pearce admitted he got one in 1984 and it is still unsolved. I liked that as I got mine in 1982 and I still can't do the bloody thing.

Are you young? I know Pearce was a bit of a bozo but there are a few others in my lifetime that I'd have ahead of him for that title. Poyser, Ball, Clark, Allison (2nd time around).

Difference being, with that lot the football was barely watchable. With Pearce, it was fuckin unbearable!
No goal at home in the second half of that season.
Let that sink in. No goal at all. Law of averages say you scab a lucky one at some point.

True, but he did get us within a missed penalty of qualifying for Europe, while none of the ones I mentioned came anywhere close.

The more I see of him and the more I see of our current midfield, the more perfect I think he is for us.
He's got the lot, a proper box to box midfielder and were crying out for a young midfielder who will run past people and break the lines, especially as KDB ages.
Put him alongside Rodri and KDB and we will be frightening.

It was the most turgid football I've ever witnessed. IIRC, we only scored 28 goals all season & only stayed up because incredibly we conceded around the same number.
The football under Pearce was worse than the times we were relegated... :-/

A European campaign under Pearce would have probably led to PL relegation, no Thaksin or Sheikh Mansour...
It's honestly the worst football I've ever witnessed from a Manchester City squad.

ya that is exactly how our defense falls apart. I prefer to put bellingham in KDB's position as he is not defensively that good and put a different type of player in gundo's position, someone who is measured in controlling the game. bellingham is a runner so it makes sense to play him in a more attacking position.
if you play bellingham deeper he will abandon his position and leave gaps there, hence why I am pretty sure pep will play bellingham higher up in KDB's position. Remember how bellingham got dominated by USA midfield? when southgate put henderson and told bellingham to play higher then he became amazing and started to drive and get into the box.
