Jude Bellingham

some fair points, but people shouldn't focus just on the outcome on the main winner.
So many awards are given for coaches, staff, teams, disabled and the disadvantaged - Its a good show and the BBC does this very well imo.
But it is all hyped up about the main winner. Last years was a disgrace.

People question it because he is dislikeable to begin with so opinions are clouded.

Then realists will question it because he had an electric first half of the season for Madrid, then disappeared. To win CL shouldn't go unnoticed and he is doing very well for his age, despite being a bit of a tosser. A City forum might be against it as we didn't have a nominee after winning the treble......... A shite united womens keeper won it last year, so really the award is a load of shite anyway. If Littler doesn't win it then end it forever.
Littler? I like the guy and his story is great but he is miles, absolutely miles, behind Luke Humphries who’s had a wonder season!

Gary Anderson was spot on when he said Humphries has been overlooked and disrespected by the media.

Littler for Young SPOTY if they have this award.

As for Bellingham. I was surprised he was nominated but then again there are no real standouts. For me it’s Joe Root or Keely Hodgkinson.

It isn't solely on what you have won though is it. A female keeper won it for saving a pen in a final despite losing last year. You are right though, Humphries doesn't have that media push Littler does and is probably why even I didn't consider him.

It depends what the criteria is really and whatever it is, Bellingham shouldn't be anywhere near it.

Which British footballer had a more successful year than him ?
Do you fancy hm? Borederline obsession here.

There are plenty who had more successful years than Mary Earps who won it last year, if I recall the footballing season prior she didn't win a bean? Whilst our club, who had many English players had just won a treble. It absolutely isn't about success is it. Otherwise it would have been a City whitewash. Last night was an alright goal, only his first in that competition which they currently sit 18th in, having played a game more than most. "Back to his best" Lol.

Was only asking the question, he broke records for Madrid, won champions league, helped England to a final. quite a year for the lad.

As for back to his best, I'd say he currently is, after a slow start to the season he is scoring consistently now and playing really well.

Just bringing a bit of balance.

I listed the reasons why he isn't well liked. Based on a successful year then he is probably in the shout for the footballers but again you will be greeted with hostility after last years winner and our achievements as a club. We also don't like him because our golden boy was shoved out of position to accommodate him at the Euros. After being declared the best player, in the best league in the world. You are in the wrong place if you want a Bellingham love in

I get it and some of the criticism is fair enough.
I just try and think as a neutral English fan so take a lot of delight in seeing the likes of Bellingham, Palmer, Foden, Saka and many more doing well for club but mainly country - I find it sad the level of hate and abuse these young lads receive constantly.

Probably because he isn't likeable in the slightest. The "who else" comment after scoring against Slovakia after another stinker of a performance from the lad. The reported unrest from fellow players who didn't like his attitude or that Adidas advert.

The media circus around him leads many to dislike him, things outside of his control. I remember prior to the CL final they shown him on the pitch and the same boring comments like "he isn't phased" "look how focused he is" as if he was going to be shivering like a nervous wreck pre match. I also remember us beating Dortmund home and away in a CL quarter final during covid. A certain Phil Foden scored the winning goal in both legs, guess what young English player BT chose to talk about all of post match........

All this. He’s clearly a very good player and will probably get even better. But hes an absolute twat. Immensely dislikeable.

Should sack off international football - it's pointless club over country any day

Jury still out on Bellingham. Clearly talented but a poor passer, decision making questionable.
