Jude Bellingham

Wtf has colour got to do with this. Some of the most celebrated footballers are non white.

it's ntlot even been part of the conversation, until now. I really wonder who the racists are, the ones who are always thinking in terms of colour of people. Why bring that into it.

Okay, let's be realistic...
bellingham has the ability to be, at times, a very decent player, there's no denying that, but he has got a long way to go before he can be classed as a superstar.
Haaland is becoming a superstar, as was, say, messi and many other greats, but for now bellingham is just a very good player and not in that category, so that side of ian wright's equation can be put to one side, can it not?

As for the colour of his skin, it would be interesting to hear what fans of other teams think about this, because, for me, being a City fan growing up all i witnessed was blacks and whites standing side by side on the maine road terraces and in the surrounding streets, so perhaps i am a little biased (or maybe even somewhat touchy) because i sang the names of many black players and let's not forget the rag chant...
"come to maine road in the sun,
where the n******s outnumber you 10 to 1,
some are fat and some are thin,
but they all eat kitekat out of a tin"

SWP can't be called a superstar but fuck me we all worshiped him, so to hear his father spout this utter bullshit seems way beyond acceptable as a blue and the bbc are a bunch of cunts for allowing him to spread such hate.

It's not his fault the media 'worship' is it ?

why should he flack the abuse just because a pundit is raving about him ?
Its not just "a pundit" is it. It's many members of the media and ex players etc. So when he plays for England for example and we're expecting to see this lad who's a cut above anything else England have, and you see the underwhelming, petulant, domineering but undisciplined performances that undermine his teammates and then throws a strop when the manager has the audacity to drag him off, it understandably rubs people up the wrong way.

I think the slagging off of the Beeb has gone a little OTT.

The BBC is only reporting what Wright said. I’m sure his comments are available on other news and media outlets.

I believe that Wright has it wrong on this (pardon the unintentional pun). The criticism of Bellend has nothing to do with the colour of his skin, and everything to do with his attitude and performances relative to that attitude.

He should stop acting like he’s the only superstar in the England squad, and knuckle down to do what Tuchel wants of him.

But he won’t, because he has an over-inflated ego and opinion of himself.

So I guess Jude Bellingham IS going to the world cup now. And I guess a lot of England fans, who know Bellingham upsets the apple cart, are going to be quite annoyed at how he has got there now.

I dislike Ronaldo, I dislike Bellingham for the same reasons. That's it.

I'm not sure who is dividing the country anymore.

Shocking words from Ian Wrong.
He is stoking fires that do not exist and he can fuck off with it and so can the bbc for allowing him to say it.
Bellingham is a knobhead and that's all there is to it, nothing more.
Yes, i usually quite like Wright but he is very bitter and always quick to point to race. He cites Bellingham and Pogba as being disliked because they are strong black men. No, theyre a pair of fucking bellends. Ronaldo is an uppity **** too and whole swathe of people dislike him because of it even if hes been a remarkable player. Guess what? A bellend is a bellend regardless of colour.

What flack and abuse.

If a player is going to give it Billy bigbollocks he has to deliver
To me he's a big headed prick.

Debruyne was ten times the player this lad is .
He was never an arrogant twat

Look at decanio for example at your club.
Absolutely amazing player.
most fans thought he was great.
Cos he wasn't an arrogant twat

I don't subscribe to the ridiculous theory that black people can't be racist, if it walks like a Duck quacks like a Duck then it's a fuckin' Duck.

Wrighty fits the bill just nicely.

If Bellendham gets his berth back in the set up then the national team is over for me.

Here's what the black Harry Potter had to say on the matter, insightful chest thumping and utterly baffling.

"He's showing people that I'm here, I'm black, I'm proud, I'm ready to go."

Is that a theory?

But of course they can be, and the same is true of every race of people. Racism is a human problem not just a white people problem.

Excellent post.

You reference a racist football song and at the same time claim that racism is not a problem.

The BBC is not part of some some left-wing plot. They are part of the state and controlled by the security services.

There have been plenty of black superstars. It's been nearly 60 years since Pele and Ali rose to prominence. Bellingham is just a bit of 2hat.
Absolutely bang on mate. For me, Ali & Pele were superstars even before the name came into fashion. Colour had feck all to do with it. They were quite simply the elite of the elite in their day. I very much doubt that Bellingham will get anywhere near their level.

I think you're really missing the point here, friend. “Fault”? Yes, that doesn't quite seem the right word.
But please don't tell me that he isn't thoroughly complicit with that ‘worship’ as you call it.

What I will say is that the level of scrutiny and hype around mere footballers is now off the charts, with social media commentary and wall-to-wall news coverage. This is a baleful thing, in general, although we're all, to greater or lesser degrees, consumers of it. It is very difficult for a young, talented player to keep their feet on the ground. Franny Lee was not a man with a small ego, but I somehow don't think he would have stood on a pitch in an England shirt, spread his arms wide, and mouthed “Who else?” to the crowd. For one thing, he would have had the piss taken something rotten back in the dressing room, just to put him back in his place — as one man amongst eleven.
Oh, and I'm damn sure Martin Peters wouldn't have.
Best came as a painfully shy young man from Belfast across the sea, was turned into a kind of Beatle, and it's one of the things that did his head (and his football) in, in my opinion. And that was when there wasn't the deafening noise of Twitter, Instagram, etc., Sky, BT and ESPN “pundits” holding forth about this that and the other to anyone who'll listen. The distorting pressure that makes it difficult for a guy like Bellingham to have a balanced perspective on who he is and exactly where he's at in his career is fifty times greater than it was in Best's day.
