What the fuck is mard arsed about that. Its all about opinions, this is a forum for opinions. We made our moves early but there are still clearly one or two positions we could ideally strengthen. Players have become available that would have been ideal but we seem to have said 'thats it' for the summer. Unfortunately although our business was good it has only really rectified last summers fuck up in part. With the increase in TV money other clubs are also bringing in quality so we have some real competition this time. We didn't get a couple of the targets we were after but have brought in four quality players to add depth, however a couple more are probably required to cover all bases, a left winger for one and maybe a defensive midfielder. If you dont like it fine but no need for the histrionics.

We bid 40m for him around 2 months ago along with Madrid, Draxler said he considered the offers but wanted to stay because of development reasons.

If he is now saying he will go if Shalke are wanting to sell and withy the fact we have bid big money for him in the past, then surely we have our eyes hovering all over him now??

Ok mate, if this is true fair play. But my point really (although expressed through Draxler) was that we don't seem to have taken that extra step after last summers debacle. We missed a trick when we were in the box seat to really push on and cement our place. Players like Hazard, RVP, De Rossi etc would have pushed us well clear of the pack. Instead we slipped back and this summer we have really just filled in the gaps left by Balotelli, Tevez, De Jong and Johnson. All our rivals have also strengthened with some quality players (scum excepted) and Spurs in particular have not only strengthened but pushed on squad wise with some real quality. I am more than happy with the 4 (soon to be 5) we have brought in but a Lamela, Willian or Eriksen would have just pushed us on that bit more. Do you see my point? I just get the feeling that we had a little more to spend initially given the prospective fees for the likes of Cavani, Isco etc but something has changed again since Jovetic arrived (FPP again perhaps? who knows.).
