Julian Weigl

Pep might want Stones or Laporte to replace Mangala. He might not rate Delph. Delph doesn't scream out "Pep Playa"
Don't know who Pep would want exactly. But Delph screams Pep player to me. Sure hebis not silky skilled, but you know he'd be all ears wanting to learn.

Also, his movements off the ball is quite impressive, even though he is not being picked out with a pass often.

But I was generally going by players ages, and who'd be under 30.

Dax I witnessed silva v west brom and it was the best performance I've ever seen from any midfielder to suggest he is in decline is foolish to say the least. He has had a few niggly injuries and is still shaking them of I believe he has 3-4 good years in s city shirt yet.
You make a great point there.

If you don't lavish praise on Silva on BM you get dogs abuse mate.
Yeah, I have seen posts in threads calling me the new Wum King :( I guess, it is okay to want to replace Yaya with Pogba, but Isco with Silva? Nooooooooo only foolish wumming arse will suggest that.

I'm not even arguing I'm right, just that decline is more likely to hit the older stat than the younger one. But nooooooooo, I must be a crazy Wum who thinks Silva is in decline.

I've learned to just ignore emotional comments :)

I respect your opinion but the difference between Yaya and Silva is that Yaya's game is a mix of technical ability with pace/power/fitness. The latter aspect has gone and with it, his impact as a box to box midfielder is dying as well. Silva's game has always been about intelligence and technical magic. He's never been the quickest or the fittest player but he gains the extra yard and finds space because of his intelligence. He won't lose that and will therefore be able to make an impact until an older age theoretically.

Where City are failing this season is because of the lack of intensity in midfield. Lampard knew he was done as a box to box player so he matured and evolved his game to save energy and then use it in the right areas. He was always an intelligent midfielder. Steven Gerrard was all energy and commitment and when his fitness went he didn't have the intelligence Lampard did to perform at such a high level. Most great players have been able to adapt. Vieira did so by only making a few box to box runs a match later in his career.

The manager has to acknowledge when a player is done and play him in a certain way. Yaya should be being played off the bench and should be protected so he doesn't need to waste energy tracking runners. He can't do it and he sure as hell won't. With De Bruyne also not too keen on tracking back we're unbalanced so the need for a player like Weigl seems obvious. I believe Fernando is a good enough option but he's having to cover so much ground where others aren't pulling their socks up. No one can cope. Even Fernandinho struggles and he's superman.
