Just go..........

So how come Harry Rednapp doesn't need his bunch of virtual strangers ample "time to gel"? Just maybe it's a motivational thing? First, we should change our defensive coach. If no significant improvement, you can guess where I am going with this...

Spurs shipped 3 against Arsenal, same v Chelsea and lost to a 10 man Utd at home....maybe we should get Kevin Bond in ?

CHT, it's always been like that. Especially when we were in division 2.

We had a thread about this last week.

It's a myth that we were "all Blues together" that season. Remember Willie Donnachie's out burst...in December 1998?

That was the catalyst for the togetherness mate.... the whole mood of the support changed from that point and the team started to believe

I don't think it divides so much in terms of age. I've just turned 50 and if I seem impatient, I just don't want to cark it before the good times arrive.

Ha Ha.. me neither...

It`s not rocket science!
Rightly or wrongly some fans (probably the majority at the younger age range) believe that all our untold wealth should be enough to assure success right now and to carry on using this wealth to correct any problems in transfer windows rather than through coaching and expect the best players to come. Others (probably those 35+) are happy for any green shoots of improvement and steady progression, probably can't believe the high quality of talent in the squad and are more cautious that anything we achieve is sustainable and involves all levels of the club improving.
I see that the Bentknapp question has been raised - why are Spurs playing attacking entertaining football and getting wins and we are not. ie - not needing time to settle in!
The thing is Dodgyknapp is an impact manager - always has been - like Keegan but with a modicum of tactical awareness - eventually this cor blimey enthusiasm wears thin and he ends up feeling slighted in some way - ala Keegan. At present his knees up mother brown, up and at em style is working - but you just know it will falter and fade - as will Defoe who at the moment believes he is Van Basten due to Arry.
Hughes is a cautious man and yes a bit dour - but he is a thinker and his success tends to come after a couple of seasons - I agree that I`m concerned about the defence and would urge that he look at his coaching set up in that regard - but I do think we need to give him time. One thing is for sure - that when we do achieve success it won't be at the expense of any other aspects of the club as I know how hands on he is - he even sits in on interviews for the coaches of kids summer camps and interviews for kit man - you can argue whether he should or not.
For the sake of bluemoon friendship can`t we wait until the season end before the Hughes out threads - of course criticise selections, formations, subtitutions, etc etc but to actively seek his sacking is ludicrous at this stage.

Some great points made there....

I am sorry but you are totally wrong

we should have beat them on sat because that was the worse dipper side I can remember for over thirty five years !

the back the manager at all costs types are delussional and are doing the club no favours
Fergie out then

that adds to the debate
wtf do I care about fergiscum

hughes is wasting the best chance my club has had for a generation we are heading for a thirty game euopa league at best . that will be his excuse for next seasons fuck up no doubt.
we need top 4 this season and it is looking like it is beyond Hughes

Don't intend to add to your debate - there are far more eloquent and well thought out and argued Hughes out posts.

this 'only one defeat' mantra some of you are keen to repeat, shouldn't fool anybody. would you rather bore draw your way through six games or be brave and win three and lose three? me? i'd rather have the extra three points!

and? your point is? do you really think we should be turning the likes of Liverpool over on a regular basis?

It may happen in the future... but not just yet.

Your response is typical of those that the OP refers to.

And we would have done had ned cleared the ball properly!!!!!! However, Hughes is to blame. Blah Blah...

I am not wrong, it is my opinion.. Back the manager at all costs?? Who is? I'm saying back him until his position is untennable... then he will be replaced on the say so of Khaldoon & Sheik Mansour... If not for a couple of defensive cock ups (again lets blame Hughes), we would be sat in third with a game in hand...
