Just Newcastle between us....

Big ask for Newcastle to beat Chelsea and City in the same week. In a strange way their win at Chelsea makes me feel more confident of City getting something. Newcastle are the type of side who could easily drop a few places next season a trip up there does not feel like going somewhere like SB or the Emirates.

I felt something similar when Wigan beat United. Their record against them was so pathetic that it inevitably had to end at some point.

I remember Spurs doing something similar a couple of years ago to claim the last top 4 spot, beating i think it was Arsenal and Chelsea in the same week.

That means nothing.

Just wishful thinking to calm down nerves before an important match ;).

Imagine it from a Toon perspective. Just two wins out of two and Champions League qualification should be theirs. Mind you, looking at the run-in for Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle, I know which team has by far the trickiest. Poor Chelsea must be out of the running now, in my opinion. What a terrible result that was for them. As I cannot see them beating Bayern on their home turf, Chelsea's season may now depend upon the FA Cup Final. Personally, I cannot see Newcastle losing on Sunday. Their massive home support will be their 12 th man, plus the referee of course. We badly need United to slip up again.

Pundits on Norwegian telly yesterday said they're the only team that has scored more in the first half than the second. If we avoid the nerves that sometimes plagues us in the opening minutes (on Monday as well) I feel confident we will take this. And also - no matter our result I have a good feeling the sore rag cunts will blow it anyway. They're broken.

I still believe United to be favourites for the title. However, if we win this, I will expect United to draw/lose to Swansea.

I dont know why everyone is panicking were a top, top side playing good football, scoring goals and keeping clean sheets.

Dont get me wrong Newcastle away is pretty much as tough as they come at this stage of the season with whats at stake for both clubs but I genuinely do have great faith in both the 18 in the squad and the management team to go up there and get a positive result, keep the faith blues, MCFC.

Just to add some perspective, we are 18 points above Newcastle. They will have just as much pressure as us, If not more. St James Is a big pitch, they will play open attacking football and this will suit our game. I fancy us to win In style and stamp our name on the title almost.

Much rather this than Stoke away.

Nobody said It would be easy. Nobody said It's all done and dusted either.

It's simple. Play like champions and win!

Good post

We just need to play the game and not the occasion and we'll be fine

I agree, that was a good post.

It's a very big pitch at St. James' and we will find space and gaps to play through. We struggle when it's all tight and congested and the opposition park the bus, which also Newcastle don't tend to do.

That said, it will be very tough. We will need to play very very well, or we won't win.

It's up to us to show we deserve the title. If we can't win two games of football then we don't deserve it simples. If we play with the same heart we did Monday night we will win.
