Just Newcastle between us....

Fear the worst after their good result last night.
Have we gone OTT with the celebrations and stuff after Monday?

If they come out to play against us, we should win. They'll leave much bigger gaps in defense coming forward than we will. We're the best possession team in the league, and we can exploit their short turn around by keeping hold of the ball.

Yes they have Ba and Cisse up front, who are fantastic strikers, but in all honesty their strengths probably play to Vinny & Joleon's strengths. Can't imagine Coloccini and Williamson are looking forward to facing the speed and quickness of thought of Kun and Tevez, not to mention the fact that because their fullbacks aren't great, it will also fall to the centre backs to keep an eye on Nasri and Silva.

Don't have to worry about united any more, they only thing in the way of our title is ourselves, any the players didn't look in the mood to slip up again.

I haven't read too many of the comments, but as much as it's a MUST WIN game for us, it's also a MUST WIN game for them. They have to come at us, which will help us. Too many teams this season have simply parked the bus. If Newcastle want to finish fourth, they have to beat us which means they have to attack. That will suit us in fairness.

Also, with playing at home there will be big pressure on them from their own supporters. As much as the crowd can be the 12th man, it can also work the other way as well (particulary if things don't go well).

I'm confident we can get the victory on Sunday. It will be nervy. It will be tense. BUT, if we had been offered the chance at the start of the season that we had to win our last two games to win the league, everyone would have bitten your hand off.

Nobody said it was going to be easy. But let's believe.

What celebrating beating U*D??
I didnt celebrate winning the league or did any of my mates.

We need to go up and there and get control of the game early. This means we'll need big games again from Barry and Yaya. My worry is that Cisse can score with just one chance, therefore we need to make sure we are equally clinical.

My head has no idea how we'll stop Cisse with some 30 yard wonder strike. Hopefully he was getting it out of his system last night.

I've just watched the wonder goal and had been expecting a bit more. The commentator claimed he meant 'every inch of it', but it's clear from his body language that he didn't expect it to go in.

The guy is on fire, and will have the confidence to try things, which we need to watch out for, but even for a great player, he'd miss 9 times out of ten trying that again.

It was a brilliant goal, but I wouldn't expect the same again.

Spurs win combined with Newcastle's win ensures that Newcastle are going to attack us as they look for 4th spot. That might work in our favour. Easier to score if they have the 4th spot to aim for and have to attack us

But they are a quality team who like will fear no one. I don't know how teams like Newcastle and City are not streets ahead of Utd. We both will be next season

Newcastle are a great attacking team...
They need to strengthen their defence though..

generally they are OK.. but 5-0 at Fulham & 4-0 at Wigan must worry them... It confuses me!

To be fair that was their 15th clean sheet of the season. Defence can't be all that bad.

On a positive note, Sunday will be their 3rd game in 8 days which should give us some sort of advantage.

Imagine it from a Toon perspective. Just two wins out of two and Champions League qualification should be theirs. Mind you, looking at the run-in for Arsenal, Spurs and Newcastle, I know which team has by far the trickiest. Poor Chelsea must be out of the running now, in my opinion. What a terrible result that was for them. As I cannot see them beating Bayern on their home turf, Chelsea's season may now depend upon the FA Cup Final. Personally, I cannot see Newcastle losing on Sunday. Their massive home support will be their 12 th man, plus the referee of course. We badly need United to slip up again.

Positive thinking there then! - It's in our hands... Show the same spirit and resolve as we did on Monday and we will push on to get the result.

We need to stop thinking about united and concentrate on what we are doing! - It's simple, win two games and we win the league, and we will win the next two games!
