Just Newcastle between us....

Now that they won last night will the expectations levels of their own fans been their downfall. They have had a fantastic season but have had some bizarre results i.e. Fulham, Wigan but they have only lost twice all season at home. I for one fear about this result more so than the Derby. If we slip up I can't see the rags screwing up in either game to be honest. The key will be to score first as the pressure on them to win especially if Arsenal have won on Saturday will be immense.

Spurs win combined with Newcastle's win ensures that Newcastle are going to attack us as they look for 4th spot. That might work in our favour. Easier to score if they have the 4th spot to aim for and have to attack us

But they are a quality team who like will fear no one. I don't know how teams like Newcastle and City are not streets ahead of Utd. We both will be next season

Newcastle are a great attacking team...
They need to strengthen their defence though..

generally they are OK.. but 5-0 at Fulham & 4-0 at Wigan must worry them... It confuses me!

To be fair that was their 15th clean sheet of the season. Defence can't be all that bad.

On a positive note, Sunday will be their 3rd game in 8 days which should give us some sort of advantage.
They have the poorest goal difference in the top half dozen.

Just to add some perspective, we are 18 points above Newcastle. They will have just as much pressure as us, If not more. St James Is a big pitch, they will play open attacking football and this will suit our game. I fancy us to win In style and stamp our name on the title almost.

Much rather this than Stoke away.

Nobody said It would be easy. Nobody said It's all done and dusted either.

It's simple. Play like champions and win!

Good post

We just need to play the game and not the occasion and we'll be fine

Spot on... try and forget the occasion...
'Just another game'..

They are a good team, no doubt. But they will try and play us rather than battle us.. this should suit us. rather this than Everton or Stoke...

get in front early and silence the noisy fuckers!

That's Vinny's mentality, he just tweeted playing down the magnitude of the game:

No talks of title for us players, all we think about is the next game v Newcastle. Great challenge ahead. Enjoy, don't fear I would say.

Well said Skip.

I think some people need to remember a few things

1.We are top of the league

2.We just beat the 2nd place team in the league

3.We have won our last 4 matches scoring 13 and only letting in 1

frustrates me seeing comments like "our players and fans want the title more than they want 4th place". fourth spot obviously isnt as lucrative as the title but for us to make champions league this season after being tipped by many for relegation would be an unbelievable achievement. Having spent over 300 million (not to mention the ridiculous wages you are paying out) on your squad over the last few seasons i certainly think youd be expected to win the title, so its not as if youve been on this incredible journey and have made it this far to lose it, i feel it was there for you to lose. Where as we have spent a fraction of that on our squad and are now in touching distance of the worlds elite competition so to get this far after being written off at every opportunity and having just been playing in the fizzy pop league 2 seasons ago would be a much greater loss i think, and doubting weather our fans and players want it more than your lot is stupidity.

apart from that sunday is gunna have an electric atmosphere from both sets of fans. total nerve shredder too. just hope we can pull through because i believe player for player man city have easily got the best squad in the prem and one of the best squads in the world for that matter.

Is it me or is this weeks press mantra is "Newcastle will be tough for City"?

I watched the game last night, they will play the same way against us with two up front so it will be an open game and that will suit us, i hope Tiote is OK i dont like to see that many medical staff working on a player for 8 minutes, having said that I would be happy if his come back is after our game..

I hope Micah plays. He got a lot of joy down that flank against Newcastle last time around.
