What’s situation with this de ligt fella at Juventus. Dud?
Apparently he was dodgy until he got dropped in November, but since then he's been absolutely phenomenal.
He got shown up the other day 1v1 which cost Juventus a win in the 95th minute, but he's currently playing through a shoulder injury that needs surgery until the end of the season so I think in general people are just cutting him some slack.

What is frustrating is every window we get posters moaning about a process they know so little about.
If our recruitment policy is that bad, how have we been so successful this last decade?
In fairness, the overwhelming majority of our best recruitment has cost us top dollar. I'm almost certainly forgetting someone but I'd have to go back 12 years to think of the last time we got a real bargain. But the standout players of the last decade (David, Yaya, Aguero, De Bruyne, Laporte, Sterling, Fernandinho etc) all raised eyebrows at the time because of their fees. You can argue that players like Gundogan were great value for money but, with all due respect, they're not the players who make us what we are.
And obviously there are times when spending big doesn't go according to plan (Stones being the biggest example I can think of) but, more often than not, you pay for what you get and we've both missed out on quality and signed absolute dross by sometimes being tight fisted and going for a cheaper alternative.
All that being said, you're right, nobody on here knows what really goes into these deals behind the scenes and how values and budgets are decided. People complaining about haggling over €10m seem to forget that €10m is still €10m; it's a huge amount of real world money which needs accounting for.

I didn't see the game so cannot comment, but if we walked away from any player who had a recent bad game, I would imagine we wouldn't have as many great players as we do. I'm almost certainly forgetting someone but I'd have to go back 12 years to think of the last time we got a real bargain. Ederson was absolutely not a steal. We paid top money and got a top player. Bernardo was around £40/45m which would be a steal if he maintained his form but he's been fairly anonymous for half the time he's been here.

This exactly. We don't do bargains. It is just more often than not we get the player we wished for. KDB was 50 mil so was Sterling. But with a good combination of excellent scouting and good coaching( Pep had a big influence on Sterling), we make them seem like a bargain.
It is just on defence we have more misses than hits thus going all out for Koulibaly may not make much sense.
I watched the Inter Napoli game and the guy is not infallible. ADL needs to stop asking for stupid money.
All said and done this transfer will only pick up after the CL is done, so I guess until then these rumours will come and go.

Disagree - £36m for Ederson proved to be a steal when Kepa & Allison went for double. Very shrewd business. Bernardo will come again I'm sure but still compared to some signings for a midfielder/inside winger with alot of time on his side £40m. In hindsight, given the prices top keepers go for, Ederson was a steal. Bernardo too. Bernardo was the best player in the league last season and one of the top 10 players in the world. He managed to completely replace the quality of a player like KDB. At 43m he was a steal, no question about that, especially given that he is entering his prime.
Jesus at 28m was an absolute steal as well.

By your own admittance, you didn't have an opinion on him in the first place. You then went and actually watched a couple of recent games and decided he's no better than Mangala and worse than Stones and Otamendi.
It's just the typical bluemoon bollocks of those knowing the least about a player shouting the loudest.
