A bidding war.

Would be ideal for you if true - but sadly it won’t be happening as long as we’re at the table.

City simply don’t get involved in bidding wars (much to the frequent frustration of our own fans!)

If a player isn’t fully committed and on board before we start talking money with the selling club - and is equally as happy to go to another team as he is to us - history tells us City will withdraw very quickly and start briefing we’re not interested.

We’ve done this time and time again over the last decade (usually with the Rags), so unfortunately for Leeds you won’t get a bidding war if we’re in any way involved.
