Can't see that somehow.
Swap for Kimmich please.

I don’t rate him personally but moving abroad - if Bayern’s interest is genuine - could actually be the best move for him.Good chance he'd play for Bayern because he's a very good player, just not quite the right fit for us,but very few are. That's why finding a back up for Rodri is proving extremely difficult.
He was voted top man for England's Euro 20-21 campaign...I can't recall Philipps being England's POTY
I didn't realise that.He was voted top man for England's Euro 20-21 campaign.
The only way I can see him ending up at Munich is if we stick him inside a big wooden horse and push him in through their main gate.Swap for Kimmich please.
That's the issue though isn't it, Rodri is an essentila part of the team. Any player out there nearly as good as Rodri won't want to play second fiddle to Rodri. Any player that comes as back up won't be nearly as good.I've no idea who we could get, and maybe there isn't anyone and when Rodri doesn't play we need a different solution.I don’t rate him personally but moving abroad - if Bayern’s interest is genuine - could actually be the best move for him.
Gives him a fresh start and would allow him to focus 100% on his football.
The past few weeks have shown how desperately we need a proper alternative to Rodri, and Phillips obviously isn’t that, so we need to get the situation sorted in January.
That would be like swapping my wife for- I best not finish that one.Swap for Kimmich please.
There were rumours that Tuchel wanted him out in the summer. The only way I can see him ending up at Munich is if we stick him inside a big wooden horse and push him in through their main gate.
We’re not going to get any top player to play second fiddle, let alone play second fiddle to Rodri who is going to start 90%-plus games if available. That's the issue though isn't it, Rodri is an essentila part of the team. Rodri is the best dm in the world, irrespective of the drop off in quality, I think it may be difficult to find a player who is prepared to have little game time.Yes, a complete lack of understanding of the difference between a good DM,even a very good DM and a player that can play that position for a Pep team, and how pivotal that position is for Pep. There is a reason we coped without KDB and Gundndogan but find it very difficult to find a solution to no Rodri. It takes a very special player to do what Fernadinho and Rodri do for our team. Even without Phillips getting somebody that isn't a big drop off from Rodri will be very difficult.
Think it was the same with Busquets at Barcelona,he never really had any back up either and ended up with over 700 appearances.Rodri is the best dm in the world, irrespective of the drop off in quality, I think it may be difficult to find a player who is prepared to have little game time.
I go along with the theory that 'The Barnsley Beckenbauer ' could be well up to the job. He knows Pep and Pep knows him well enough. If it hadn't been for his injury start to the season his versatility would have given him the role. Would have been the best option for an emergency.Think it was the same with Busquets at Barcelona,he never really had any back up either and ended up with over 700 appearances.
I can’t remember but I’m sure Barcelona tried all sorts to rest him too but never really found a solution.
It’s such a specialised position especially in a Pep team, similar to goalkeeper where being the number 2 is a thankless task.
Very lucky to not getting second yellow just now as well.I'm just watching the England game and as much as I hate to say it, the blokes a bit dim.
He'll be lucky to stay on the pitch.
He’s not the sharpest tool in the box. He had plenty of opportunity to fuck off in the summer, we couldn’t have made it any more obvious he wasn’t wanted yet he chose to stay, so now to whinge about minutes is a little bizarre. That interviewer was causing trouble then saying knocking on Pep’s door after that performance. He was lucky he didn’t get sent off. Blaming poor tackles on lack of game time? He does training doesn’t he?
I agree I reckon he”ll go in January
