But if he is staying, plenty will insist you can't say anything that isn't flowery and positive. Not only that. Because it's only just become clear he is staying (seemingly), and there's no real positive evidence on display, then it's doubly enforced.

We're not allowed to say anything about Kalvin that has been said about countless other City players. Because it's a bit sensitive. We might break his smile, or something. No. Really. No. He's not a 5 year old. He's a full grown man, in an elite sporting organisation. Paid through the nose. Privilidged. Celebrated.

People want to see effort and commitment. You shouldn't smile too much, until you have demonstrated that.

Maybe Kolarov knew that, and that's why he never smiled.

Professional football has great rewards at this level but you do have to be good enough and unfortunately he's been nowhere near good enough, it's a tough game you don't get games on sympathy sadly or we'd all be playing.

How many games has he started? The small cameos is not enough for any player to kick on. He might not be good enough but we need to find that out by playing him. Anyway, iv defended him a lot on here recently. Most don’t agree and that’s fine.

Deserves at least the cup games.

We've 5 lads including Stones for arguably 2 CM positions without including Phillips. He won't get many minutes in the cups excluding injuries. When you're only getting into the rotation spots due to injury to other players, time to go off and find a new club.

Like I say it's a tough game, when you get a chance you've got grab it and so far he's not shown a great deal management staff watch him day in day out he won't get games at this level unless he earns it even cup games I'm afraid.

Not his fault he was never good enough, the powers that be at the club wanted him and offered him a lucrative contract.
If he stays put it's on them not Phillips, they got it wrong.
