Keir Starmer

On what evidence?

A Scandi Social Democrat he was not, he was a Democratic Socialist, that though does not mean he was hard left.

TRUTH!

That is a word that no longer resides in the UK political lexicon. The Tories under Johnson made TRUTH a laughable concept and his primogeniture have exacerbated the use of untruth to such an extent lie is now truth and it is unchallenged by any form of media.

Because that very media has gone unchallenged during its years of castigation of Corbyn, a man who I do beli eve is not an anti semite it has neutered the Left and we what see now is the pitiful defending of Israeli war crimes by prominent Labour figures like Lammy, Thornberry and even Starmer himself. Akehurst and his friends of Israel mates will be delighted, it is another nail in the coffin of the left they despise so much.

I am of the Left, some will think i am very far left, compared to those named above i probably am, because i believe in humanity, decency, equality and fairness. The Labour party has lost those values and this dreadful conflict is showing the party heirarchy for what they are truly are.

How can any Labour voter support people who support genocide?
I'd hate to see your response if I'd actually made a comment disagreeing with you ;)

A mate of mine who's a councillor has been summoned for having the audacity of a photograph of him wearing a Palestinian flag pin badge on his jacket at a political event.

Who's actually leading Labour. Is Starmer the puppet whilst Mandy and Akehurst weed out "the undesirables"?

Well he's got as much charisma and dynamism as a ventriloquist's dummy, so it's very likely a yes.

When the C.E.O of BlackRock is celebrating your leadership that's says it all about where the Labour party are heading.

They'll be in Government next year.

You might find the answer unedifying, but it is very simple.

Despite a lot of guff in here, we are not citizens of the world, there is a hierarchy of empathy and more importantly a limit. And what empathy there is for the Palestinians and Israelis is further drained by a sense of never ending hopelessness.

For those with a dog in the race this situation is paramount, for the rest of us? Despite what we might tell ourselves, not so much.

To quote Neville Chamberlain it is "a quarrel in a far away country between people of whom we know nothing".

He might be a power seeking **** who can turn a blind eye to dead kids and turn on everything that got him the leadership but he's not a Tory.

This is a perfectly good reason to vote for someone.

Firstly being "power seeking" as the leader of the opposition is generally considered a good thing. I know you preferred Corbyn and being the martyr party that would never get elected but could complain about everything, but most people want to vote for someone who is interested in getting the office they're running for.

Secondly, we'd all love a political saviour to appear and inspire everyone to a landslide victory for leftist liberal ideals. But int he absence of one existing, it's perfectly OK to vote for the person who's in the centre instead of the party careering to the right as fast as possible. The desperately bad attempt to brand Starmer as just as bad as Sunak, Braverman, Patel et al. has failed and will keep failing because everyone knows it's not true.

Thirdly, Starmer's view on Israel is not much different from Sunak's, or Johnson or Cameron or Brown or Blair or Major or Thatcher or Callaghan or Wilson.

So why would any voter pay much attention to something that isn't a point of difference between Starmer and his contemporary opposition, or every PM for the last 70 years? It's an issue that transcends party politics.
