Keir Starmer

Okay, I get that. But I don’t believe you can’t have at least a left or center left PM/President not pass on populist socialist policies just for the sake of power? He/she doesn’t have to seize the means of production but they can easily push for certain areas like labor protections, debt relief, minimum wage rises, free school lunches etc. These can be done.

We have those here do we not?

Under Labour I have no doubt we get a little bit more so what’s with the obsession of wanting rid of Starmer from the left?

So close to the next GE against a shambles of a government and in a position to destroy them as far as seats goes for a generation it feels, rather than embrace that or at least accept it holding their noses a bit it seems some just want to sabotage it.

Why? I know why, I’ve said it but I’m asking a genuine question to those on here that want him gone. Why?

He's digging his own grave. That's not down to us.

I've said in this thread and the labour party one he could Spursy the election and this has the potential to do it.

He's digging his own grave.

Don’t think he is.

Pissing Muslim MP’s and councillors off over the stance on Israel/Hamas won’t do for him. Nor will pissing off a minority of what’s left of Momentum. He has already had that fight and won, convincingly.

He is about to be the PM of the UK with everything that goes with that.

He isn’t going to take an anti Western/US/NATO stance that many crave for it feels, never.

This is the real world.

We'll see.

Come election day Truedau MK2 should be PM. He doesn't need "the left" help to fuck it up.

They are making a big deal of what he said on the TV it may affect the Muslim vote in the UK if he doesn’t tread carefully. He said “Israel has the right to defend itself”

It‘s not a personal choice to be centrist, it’s just where life leads you and that’s where I’ve been since a young age, political wise. I do like it though, there’s so many clowns to the left of me, jokers to the right, here I am, stuck in the middle with you :-)

Fairness, that’s all I want.
I am a clown to the left of you, there are many here who are jokers to the right.

You want fairness, can you explain fairness from a centrist position?

A workers wage belongs entirely to the worker. What a worker earns they should keep, what a business profits should see some of it distributed to their workforce that worked to achieve it. Contributions to state pensions, assistance to welfare to the less fortunate under the premise they will rejoin the workforce at a time best suited to them, and funding affordable healthcare for all are a requirement.

Finding that balance is crucial. How can you say the worker should have the most profit when also saying that their earnings are taxed without their consent? How can private businesses benefit from their workforce without being seen to contribute to social services that their workforce relies upon for their wellbeing?

Being centrist means looking at both arguments and finding the important compromises that keeps both sides happy, from a logistical viewpoint. Left and Right are far too closed minded to seek that sort of a conclusion. Centrism isn't perfect, but it is far more open-minded. Before you say anything, I was heavily left-wing in my youth, and now see how simplistic and unsympathetic my world view was. I support social assistance, but also see the value in individualism. Not all of us want to be "worker bees" who contribute to a "system", neither are all of us are blind to the sufferings and hardships of others through no fault of their own.

It’s interesting that the PM, the leader of this country, who Starmer only has to follow, if lucky, gets treated by the Red tops completely diffently.
