Keir Starmer

In reverse already.

Johnson attracted voters from all sides with his get Brexit done policy (whatever people think of it or him) so maybe the lesson is come up with policies that enough people like rather than praising the ghosts of past leaders to win votes.

Oven ready bollocks?

How about Free space hoppers and a weekly bring your emotional support Alligator to work day?

And what was achieved?

Irrelevant though mate, it’s the fact that enough people from across the political divide can coalesce around a single idea. In reality there is more that unites the majority of voters in this country than divides them, our difference usually lies in how we achieve it, not what we want to achieve.

So it's okay for politics to be reduced to professional conmen hoodwinking gullible schmucks, if those gullible crowds are across the political the political spectrum?

Yes, but you know the question was more in terms of what was achieved with that large majority?
Fuck all is the answer, but enough cunts fell for the oven ready bullshit, which, whatever anyone says about the execution, achieved what it set out to do, which was the wording of your original question.

That's what you have read the question to be. But as the question followed "a landslide was won"- do you not think the more common reading of it was actually "what was achieved [after the landslide, with the large majority]"?

Is it possible to achieve a landslide and not have a large majority?

What do you plan to do with your large majority?

Form a government.

You’re missing the wider point and focusing on the example. It’s a proven fact you can win over the “other side” by having a policy or policies that resonate with the majority. We’re seeing democracies across the world voting in populist governments and yes, often led by disrupters of the establishment with questionable policies but that should not mean the establishment simply carry on with tribal politics.

Unless electing an empty vessel who praises a leader from 40 years ago in a bid to win votes is really where we are happy to leave the bar.
