Sunak trys to use ‘unity’ as a potential dividing issue between Tory and Labour. Starmer takes Sunak’s words at face value and neuters the issue.

I am not sure what people expect but this is what it going to be like up to the election. It is unedifying, but unsurprising.

By neuter it you mean continually cede to Tory framing on every fucking issue? We don't need any dividing lines here ..... but anybody coming to the conclusion that they are pretty much the same are deluded?

Sunak is cynically using unity to promote division - Labour is the party of division and sides with radical Islam blah, blah. Starmer neutered it by agreeing with the call for unity. And next time Sunak tries his culture war gambit - Islam, trans, whatever, then Starmer should quote Sunak’s words back on unity and not dividing the country etc.

It’s a game. A squalid, nasty little game but that’s what we are going to get for the next however many months.

For the Tories to talk about uniting our country! How do they have the face? They have spent the last several years dividing it, and perhaps irreparably.

Should have said I agree with him but he caused the division should have called him out for not being able to use the word multi cultural society only multi ethnic should have called out Sunak for not calling 30 Islamophobia / racist along with Scully and Breavemen and Truss
