I agree about the lack of patience and nefarious political characters will be jumping on that.

Look at the headlines tonight that state he's going to let criminals out after serving 40% of their sentences. Deliberately chosen to set him up for failure. And when he rips up the Rwanda laws those same people will be whipping up the gullible along with Tommeh to 'protest' without wanting to understand the reasoning and have the patience to comprehend it.

Average sentences are up by a third under the Tories so it's a proposal to reduce by 10% sentences that the Tories have increased by over 30% - to no obvious effect on deterrence or reoffending.

Headlines in the Tory press are not a basis for policy.

I'm trying to decipher how true this is. He certainly has shades of the observation, but because he flip flops so much, it's hard to define this at all, in my mind.

I suspect his public service mantra is doublespeak for Austerity. We shall see.
