I’m fairly old school in that I’ll generally support any labour leader as, only having a choice between 2 I’d never opt for the Tory. Whilst I did like many of the policies of Corbyn, the fact that he couldn‘t get elected, meant he should have given way to someone who could. The reasons why are largely immaterial but, like Brown, once it becomes clear you’re not going to win, get someone in who might. Policies you cannot enact are about as useful as a brilliant tasting suppository...
I find any shade of red politically more appealing than blue and if Keith can get elected, I would view it as better than the alternative. However, he does appear to have already joined the Conservative party and seems to have forgotten that the very first job of the opposition, pandemic or no pandemic, is to actually oppose. Nobody expects policies or spending plans from him but I would expect some opposition and he’s giving them less than Steve Baker and David Davis...In other words, they’re getting an absolutely free ride and it’s a terrible look.
