Keir Starmer

This has always been spot on. I've used it in a Union AGM speech last year.

It's official.

The Establishment have endorsed Starmer.

He's certainly got the approval of the right wing press who seem so relieved to finally have a decent 'opposition'. Reminds me of condescending rags in 1998 telling me they'd love to see city back in the top flight...

Yes, the media fulsome in its praise of Starmer, I am sure tea with Murdoch will be next and then a red carpet visit to the Daily Heil.

Makes me sick

What should really make you sick is that your left wing chums in the Labour Party have been so imept that we are saddled with a bunch of right wing loons in Government.

The leaked report made quite clear it was the right wing of the Labour party that sabotaged the party and Corbyn's election chances with their disinformation, lies and complicitness with that **** Watson. They are a stain not just on the Labour party but also on democracy. Its the right wing of the labour party who were as Urban Genie quite rightly said for the continuum of neo-liberalism and neo-conservativism, that's why the right wing media like Starmer, he is a Blairite puppet who will dance to the Murdoch tune. In the UK now you will have a choice between a right wing Labour party and a further right wing Tory party.

After Covid is past, then we will see the Tories in full flow, austerity for the poor as per normal, corporatism for the wealthy as the likes of Mogg counts his earnings from the crisis.

The media narrative with PMQ's praising Starmer and not picking on his weaknesses. Corbyn asking the same questions would have been accused of politicising and being unpatriotic.

We could well have a labour government in 5 years time if this nicey nicey policy continues. It will only be in name only. NEC and leadership controlled by the centre right. The silence from the media over this and the report is telling.

Urban Genie has nailed it. Same policies just different colour rosettes.

Corbyn wasn't ever getting elected.

From the review of PMQs in one paper

"but if Labour had to choose someone well suited to parliament in serious/boring mode, it is hard to imagine anyone better than Starmer, and he will chalk today’s outing up, not as a triumph, but certainly as a success. His questions were clear, forensic and focused, he avoided bland or trite sloganising and he adopted a measured tone consistent with responsible, constructive opposition"
