Yes, it may be their plan, but it's a risky one, people will stick to what they seeCould be argued this has been Labour's problem for years mate. If anything appointing Starmer was a display of pragmatism that showed the party was prepared to change course to become more electable.
At the end of the day, what the YouGov numbers say is that progress has been made, just not enough to overtake the Tories yet. As MSC just said, the plan might be to play the long game and let Johnson bumble his way to being unelectable.

Given the age profile of most of the deaths by year end excess deaths will drop a fair bit.Utter bollocks their ineptitude didn’t kill them all, how many 10s of thousands they have we will never know.
