He's a professor of demographics who doesn't know how people of different ages and social background voted in the referendum other than by using polling by people like Ashcroft, or guessing.

Is this the guy who gave us the statistic of "the population of England broken down by age and sex"?

Have you actually watched or read his assessment?

Have you read his book "Rule Britannia, Brexit and the end of Empire" ?

Did you know that the leave vote was higher in area's where obesity was higher. Did you know that poverty had little effect on the voting patterns. Did you know more people voted leave in Hampshire than in Sunderland.
Women by a small majority voted voted remain, white men voted leave, the biggest gender differences where on the AB social class among 35-54 year olds where women were 11 points more likely to vote remain than men.

That is a taste of the level if analysis he broke it down too, but you would rather take a Tory Baron's pollsters word for it,

I'm not sure whether you're any sort of statistician, or how we are at odds over this stuff, but some of this really does not compute.

More people voted leave in Hampshire than in Sunderland? Well, only because there are five times as many people in Hampshire (55% Leave) than in Sunderland (61% Leave).

Assuming Ashcroft polled in relation to the proportion of the population in each social class, that really makes no sense. 4% of the population is A, 23% is B, 28% is C1.

AB were 57% Remain, C1 were 49% Remain. (So even allowing for ABC1 being 55% of the population, I make that 47% of Leave voters, not 59% - but it's been a long day and I'm not a statistician either.)

And obesity is a poverty problem. Because poor people do eat more chips.

Read his book, he is on your side. I ain't much of a statistician that is true, but i do see his theme and where his stats lead and why.
